Fairbanks itself is nothing really to write home about:
However, they have a decent outside exhibition:

http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/8004/alaska24846ee.jpg
After a night stop, we leave the US towwards Dawson City. A ride of several hundred kms, the largest part of which without a concrete road:

Anyway, apart from the nature, which leaves me wordless, it always amazes me to see all those cozy cottages, a complete contrary to the usual impersonal architecture in the US!
Skyman April 14th, 2007, 07:40 AM Love Alaska
urbane May 27th, 2007, 05:06 PM Fantastic landscapes..............can't say the same about the architecture, but I doubt you went there to see that (plus it could be worse) :D

Bahnsteig4 March 28th, 2008, 02:34 AM Anyway, apart from the nature, which leaves me wordless, it always amazes me to see all those cozy cottages, a complete contrary to the usual impersonal architecture in the US!
Quite a late reply, but I do not know what kind of architecture in the US is "impersonal"?
