FM 2258 March 25th, 2006, 09:54 AM Nice pictures. Dallas needs more supertall skyscrapers. I think it deserves it. They need some developers to get in there are start building tall. Also all the freeways need more widening. I wonder if they're done with the Interstate 30 expansion west of Dallas.

Agree - we need a few supertalls.
Disagree - we don't need wider freeways, just a quicker expansion to the light rail system.
(But, the I-30 widening, the part inside the city limits, is now completed.)

What do you mean by this? What's going to happen with Woodall Rogers Expressway? Are they going to tunnel it or something? Didn't quite understand.
tennreb March 27th, 2006, 09:29 PM They are building a park over the top of it to connect the Arts District to Victory Park.

TexasStar or Owlhorn can add to it but I think the only thing they need now is the funding? Not certain.

You're right. I think light rail for Dallas and other Texas cities will solve alot of problems for traffic. I love what Dallas as done with the DART light rail and hope to see it expand much more than it is right now. It would be really nice if they made a line the goes into Deep Ellum so you can access the club scene without the need for a car.
Last time I was in Dallas I was in the area just north of Downtown and south of Highland park and I noticed some rail lines along some of the streets. What is that? I saw some signs saying it was for a trolley.

I think you mean the (free) McKinney Avenue Trolley.
It runs from St.Paul Street, across from the Dallas Museum of Art,
up McKinney through the heart of Uptown all the way to the West Village near Blackwood.

Yes, that's what it is. We went to some bars and clubs in that area and I noticed tracks in various places. The trolley looks really nice. Thanks for the pictures.
TexasBoi March 28th, 2006, 06:32 AM I think it would be great if Dallas could get that trolly line all over teh city. Hell you can get rid of busses and replace it with the trollies. At the same time, keep getting light rail. Also, when is construction starting on the SE line?? I heard this spring, then summer.
UWMilwaukeeJay March 28th, 2006, 06:43 AM I drove through dallas at night for the first time saturday....from the looks of these pictures..it would be alot better during the day in your town. great pics.
