ah, those were the days! very sentimental pix. i think pic no.3 is of the area right south of doha metropolitan police station. it's became a parking lot now. before, there was Alchabra (fruit market), where my dad used to take me and my 2 younger brothers, each friday morning to one of the indian tea stalls in the souk. he w'd enjoy his chabti bread with chai-dod (tea with milk), while we deliciously eat our ice-cream cones.
what a fond memories of days hard to forget.
doha is really changing, but hope the people's mentality & way of life, that includes kindness, generosity & being helpfull to one another's remains intact. inshallah!

i can't see how qatar was beautiful in the 70's. fine, i would agree that the people were geniune, kind & considerate, but the whole country was in bad need of good infra-strecture. no good road system, no clean water, power faliure was a daily happening, no street lights in most roads. there was only 2 business streets, abdulla bin thani & al kahraba street.

no cournich, no sea front, no clean beaches. there was even a shanty-town near the secondary school where i used to go, in nu3ijah.

people were suffring from disease, the education & medical care was bad, a basic things which supposed to make people's life happier and healthier, instead of turning thire lives into a misreable hell. people w'd go 2 bed at 8pm, not because they want to get up early in order to go to work, but because if they w'd stay for longer time, they might die out of boredom.

so, my friend, i was hoping you tell the truth and shame the devil. qatar wasn't beautiful, and just for a moment let's leave our patriotism aside & let's also forget the cournich and west bay area, and go to areas like doha jadidah or farij abdulaziz, with all my respect to the residents of those area, and tell me, do you still find doha beautiful?

I know and all what u said is true and we know it but still people were living happily even with all what u said the medical care and road system but eventhough people were happy. Now the familys may visit each other maybe in the eid or in the widding party but before people were doing alot of stuff Together. all what people are doing thinking about a new company they will invest in.other than that they send sms msg for greeting or eid. even with all the boring thing i still like being here in Qatar. yeah ppl were saying that doah is boring and there is nothing to do and nothing to see but we have peace and this thing is very important. for example dubai with all respect there is no peace i went to dubai 3 months ago and i sow an ambulance taken an indian guy someone stab him ppl comes to doha and say what we like about it it's a quiet and peaceful. you cant see those stuff not now not in the future not even in the past stabing stilling in everyday life . my father used to tell me how cool was it in his time for any time there is agood thing and bad thing so we cant say that time was really bad and i still agree with u with some of the of thing u wrote.
