(MENAFN) Saudi officials announced that the first integrated private college in the Kingdom, the construction of Batterjee College for Medical Sciences & Technology (BMC) in Obhur, will be inaugurated soon, Arab News reported.

The president of the Saudi-German Hospitals Group (SGHG) said that student enrollments will start in June and the SR375-million BMC complex will become operational in September.

The complex covers an area of 100,000 square meters and has been designed with the most modern European technology.

The educational strategy at SGHG keeps in pace with its vision to establish 30 world-class hospitals in the Arab and Islamic world thus creating 50,000 jobs in the health sector by the year 2015.

It has been equipped with the technologies for studies in cooperation with King Abdul Aziz University, College of Medicine at the German Tupengen University, South Africa University for Allied Health Sciences and US-based University of Nebraska.

Yes, Batterjee are a merchant family in Jeddah. They own the Saudi German hospitals group among other things.

The Saudi German Hospital Group has initiated the pilot project of health care education by establishing first private medical college in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia . In the presented design, Saudi Arabian regulations for college are adhered. It will have two separate residential as well as curricula Campuses for each gender. The college will be equipped with latest technology and E-learning techniques. It has an affiliation with Heidelberg University and Siemens- Germany The Campus would be at the plot size of 92,000 Sq-Mtrs land of Obhur in Jeddah. It will accommodate 1,800 students (900-Male & 900-Female). It will have an Auditorium with the seating capacity of 1000. The design concepts and specifications for the medical college were prepared by the Group in consultation with B.G.K, a leading consulting company in Germany.

The Medical College has already obtained the preliminary approval from ministry of higher education of Saudi Arabia and the stone laying ceremony was held in octoberzxc2003. Its construction is in progress and scheduled for commercial operation by 2006.

the total cost of pharmacy program is around 400 thousands riyals,i asked them 2 years ago! but no wandering why the price is over the limit just see the decorations in their website!!! it's more to be like a hotel:nuts:
