I found a very good website:
www.geograph.co.uk (http://www.geograph.co.uk)

Stumbled across some older pics that show just how much improvement has taken place...the ones that i've that i've just found now are of the Piccadilly station area.

Manchester City Council has literally tens of thousands of pictures archived on their site but it's a bit of a trawl looking for a particular scene from a particular time. However, there are interesting under-construction pics of Piccadilly Plaza, the CIS tower, Central Library and even, believe it or not, the Town Hall.

I would post them here but I haven't got time to find them right now. (I've got a job interview in just over an hour!)

The second picture is frightening, in that they have a Union Jack flying outsied the station..... are they suggesting that this is somthing that Britain should be proud of ???? Good riddance!

The last pic with the trams on actually looks rather pretty, but I remember a much more neglected reality. Picc place will make a huge difference to the city., not just that one area.
