alone for this stadium you should become the EC
but i think croatia-hungary is more interesting, the cities have big projects, too. you dont have to go long ways.
super culture, super hotels.
ukraine-poland is to decentral, i think.
italy had the fis world-cup and the olympic games wich werent good prepareted, i dont think that they get, the EC.
they had a WC in 1990!

There are also plans to build new arena, olympic swimming pool, congres center.

BTW
are there any other projects?
Nikodem February 17th, 2006, 05:08 PM Narodowy = National. Nothing is sure yet, so no need to make new thread. We recive promises from authorities every year, the plans change all the time, so unless sth is sure...
Previous plans were to build national stadium on Legia ground and share it with Legia club. But now they decided to build 2 arenas, one national (60.000) and one for Legia (35.000).

No it isn`t copy of stadium in Munich for sure. Baltic Arena and other comercial buildings symbolize ambers and stones that Gdansk seaside is famous for. If you have time you may read this power point presentation (it`s also in english) and then you will know why the roof project is looking that.
http://www.e2012.gdansk.gda.pl/multimedia/baltic_arena.pps
Some quotes from this presentation:
"...The Baltic Arena Gdansk, its shopping facilities and the hotel are arranged like the small pebbles and stones at the sea. They are connected in a harmonious formation as it brought together through the tides and surf at the beach, reminiscent of the Baltic Sea coast. The natural structure of these stones is reflected in the architecture of this buildings, which appear as if they too were shaped by the elements of water, sand and sea air..."
"...like the Baltic Arena in Gdansk its filigree roof and facade construction is reminiscent of this old shipbuilding tradition"
"The Baltic Arena Gdansk has a striking amber-like form, which opens into its surrounding environment in all directions like flowing streams..."
