That corner of the city is being completly redevelopped.

It changed so much in the last few years and has still many projects under construction at the moment.

The latest is:

HOTEL DAUPHIN

10 stories hotel.

^ Link doesnt work.

Dont get the side though, are they planning on putting advertising there or another building about the same height?

^^ sure they do, unless the spot next to them is zoned for high buildings.

If it is a fixed window that does not allow a view, then sure, but there would be no point in doing that since there could be a building built higher next door.

According to the Quebec Civic code, no building can have a direct view less then 150 centimetres from the property line, and most buildings in downtown is built up to the property line(including this one), thus having the plain sides.

The problem with this is that there probably wonT, be anything bult nex to to this building for decades.

Just look at the hotel de LA MOntagne. 21 Floors, and no windows on either side of it!And its been like that for over 30 years!Whatever was supposed to go up next to it, never materialized. Now it just looks like crap!

Teh Ogilvy Tower that has been proposed to go up next to the HdlM will most likely never materialize either.
