RafflesCity February 20th, 2006, 06:56 AM Awesome shots!
The evening sun casts a nice light on the buildings
hyacinthus February 20th, 2006, 07:16 AM yup. It's lovely. In fact the view from Mandarin Hotel is lovely.
Perhaps, with the new Orchard Turn, the view will be better without much blockage by surrounding buildings. :)

It will be cool to get a top-down view of the revolving pod of the 33-year old Mandarin Hotel from the future Orchard Turn....till then...the Mandarin probably offers the most dynamic views in Orchard
babystan03 February 20th, 2006, 03:16 PM Perhaps we can consider splitting ourselves into 2 groups and take pictures of each other from the 2 towers (Mandarin Hotel and Orchard Turn)....:jk::jk:

RafflesCity July 2nd, 2006, 02:30 PM yah and I took about exactly the same updates as you too...but you saved me the trouble of processing those :D

Top floor units from Urbana have great views!
RafflesCity June 14th, 2007, 02:36 PM Yes the Ritz has started rising. Its a good place up there to get a lot of updates on the construction activity.

Singapor3 July 12th, 2007, 07:30 PM Nice clouds in that picture!
Is that Singapore in the far end of the landscape?
_00_deathscar July 14th, 2007, 12:35 PM Tis my favourite 'city' hotel, the Singapore Oriental!

hyacinthus July 14th, 2007, 12:41 PM I like this hotel too. Very nice and cosy. Good spot for fireworks and skyline pictures too.
We've tried taking fireworks from the 20th floor ledge without any panel to prevent us from falling to ground. Hotel would make you sign an indemnity form before unlocking the glass door if you want to take such risks. :D

Yep - although it's a classy 5* hotel, it has a bit of a resorty/family/cosy feeling to it, as opposed to some 5* city hotels which feel really snobbish.
I think that's a lot to do with the brand too though: even the Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong has a family feel to it.
RafflesCity July 21st, 2007, 11:55 AM Nice clouds in that picture!

Those towers sticking out in the far horizon are in JB :)
