Sorry to start a new thread, but does anyone know of the development on oxford road that seems to be incorporating some old court building into its facade. Its next to the Opal apartment building. Its been puzzling me for ages and would be interested to see some renders of it.

Where exactly do you mean on Oxford rd?
Dont know of any court buildings - do you mean court as in judges and criminals or as in courtyard?.

I've got a feeling he's on about the old Jaguar showroom on Wilmslow road, next to that Opal student block in Rusholme?

More student flats I think.

Ah i see! I can see the confusion! Old inq has seen the royal crest and put 2 and 2 together. No- it was the Stratsone Jaguar garage and was there from the 30's right up until last year - the crest is because Jag is by Royal appointment.
Myself and others fought to get the facade at least retained and surprisingly they did!
Fucking shit going up behind it mind! Wouldnt like to be a student living on the southerly facing side either.
Where the opal flats are (which btw are prefabs and were built off site and just slotted into a steel frame) was also a garage (Manchester Garages) and that was a groovy early 60's design by the same architect who did George Best's infamous house.

Thats why I put a question mark after 'court buiding', I wasn't really sure what it was ;). Thanks though, does anyone know where I could find any renders of it? (well done for saving the facade Longford).
