Is it true that the land next to the stadium is owned by a Coritiba fan, and that he did not want to sell the land to Atletico Paranaense?

The Arena de Baixada was chosen as one of the stadiums for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. And one note: The stadium is not called the Kyocera Arena anymore because the naming rights contract expired and was not renewed.

The newest seating area in the south doesn't match well with the rest of the lower tier. Will that be fixed during the reconstruction of the Baxada Stadium?

This Stadium is near my neighborhood :)
I guess Ronaldo played 2 times there, it stays in a city in countryside São Paulo with 200,000 inhabitants. A stadium with 62,500 is very much for a medium city like PRESIDENTE PRUDENTE /SP away 5 hours to São Paulo

Jose Farah Stadium (or Prudentão) is currently the biggest stadium of Brazil in a countryside.

Doesn't match because this area will be a VIP area.

Yes, but with small modifications, since they still need to get the money aproved, but it is U/C.

I can say that out of the 2014 WC venues, this stadium is lagging behind the most. The three existing stands already exist, but the new southern stand will be the VIP/luxury box stand.

Those seats are not sold out!

For 2014, some of the pillars will be removed and a new roof will be built.

Benn
July 5th, 2011, 06:06 AM
It does however beg the question; why on earth did they install seats there in the first place?

Jim856796
July 5th, 2011, 10:11 AM
Why were those pillars built in the upper tier, making the stadium look awkward? I wish ALL of the pillars in the stadium were removed.

It happens everywhere. One of the most recent stadiums in Australia has that very same problem. They just don't sell those seats, or maybe they do but the people who buy tickets for those seats just go off and watch in standing areas.

It really is remarkable that something like that can occur, but I'm sure the people who commission such things do it because they have no other alternative. It can't just be something that dawns on them down the track.

will not happen over the concrete block in the photo posted above

It will only have blocks of concrete in the upper bleachers behind the goals:

There are really no excuses for restricted views at modern football stadiums.

Otherwise, this stadium looks good from those renders.
