Casting of concrete foundation slab of tower «А» in the «Federation» business center is finished

On the night of February 25 the MIRAX GROUP Corporation finished the casting of foundation slab of tower «А» in the «Federation» business complex being constructed in the MIBC «Moscow-City».

The process of casting started on February 22 at 12:00 p.m. and was finished on February 26 at 01:00 a.m. Thus the procedure lasted continuously for 84 hours. Ultra-strong B-50 concrete was supplied by 5 concrete plants of Moscow. The average rate of concrete feed was 243 m3 per hour. In total it was cast 14 thousand cubic meters of concrete developed by the Moscow Reinforced concrete research institute together with Construction physics research institute by «Mirax-City» company’s request.

The unprecedented in the world casting procedure was registered by the Editor-in-Chief of Guinness Book of Records Craig Glendane, who presented a honorable diploma of a record-holder to Arthur Alexandrov, Construction manager of the «Federation» complex.

yes. they are.

Plus they can put addmixtures into the concrete to cure with high heat and extra air entrainment so that it won't freeze, or if it does some it won't adversely affect the mix. Pretty amazing how they can do these pours in these temperatures. Would be really interesting to find out what kind of process they used to keep it from freezing on this project. Very cool.

are those chinese workers working on the project?

yes. it is current data on official site (http://www.miraxcity.com/). number of floors is wrong there however. tower a will have 88 floors, tower b - 59 floors. officialy - 85 and 57. because
1 and 2 will be 1 and 1a.
5 and 6 will be 4a and 4b.
and 88th will be 85b.

This week the Management of ZAO “Mirax-City” is planning to meet with the representatives of LDA company, Austria. The aim of the meeting is signing of a contract for design of facade illumination of the “Federation” business complex.

A concept and a set of drawings of external and internal façade illumination and internal lighting of the “Federation” has been already developed based on architectural and building drawings. There are two types of illumination in the design – everyday and festive. The main concept comprises several stages of development: in stylobate zone, crossing bridges, mast, spire.

The common external illumination will be realized by means of projectors. Their light will be directed in such a way that the outline of towers and internal structures will be seen from the earth. Illumination will be of the whitest shade. Crossing bridges at the 33, 47, 61, 76 and 89 floors, the mast and internal facades of stylobate zone from a 5 m level to a 34 m mark will be illuminated with projectors. Their light will clearly outline the facade elements and internal structures.

The mast illumination intensity will be increasing from a 33 m mark to a 367,2 m level. External facades of the stylobate zone starting from zero level and up to a 22 m mark, the spire starting from a 367,2 m mark and up to a 448,2 m mark are illuminated by means of the lights located behind the glass panels in the “blind” facade zones. The façade surface is evenly illuminated by a white color shade light. Facades of towers «А» and «B» will be illuminated with projectors placed on the stylobate roof and lawns of the complex.

Daylight illumination of the internal atrium space will be realized with the help of mirrors. Three options of conceptual design of external and internal lighting will be considered during the final approval. In the course of approval one option from the suggested ones will be chosen or a new one will be compiled.

Jeweler works on the facade of "Federation Tower"

On last weekend began the installation of facade elements of the tower "B" business complex "Federation". Works on the object are conducted by the Chinese company SHENYANG YUANDA ALUMINIUM INDUSTRY ENGINEERING CO., LTD. For today 4 elements on the 11th fl have been already mounted. Till this moment we could judge appearance of the complex "Federation" only under drawings of architects, now every day the tower will start to get real outlines and appearance which subsequently become recognized in all over the world.
Transparent designs with which the facade of the complex will be reveted, represent the hinged panel in the size 1,755х3,806 meters. They gather at the factory of magnifying assembly from the accessories acting from the factory - manufacturer in China. To the building site these elements come already in a ready kind. The maximal weight of each element subject to installation – 830 lb (400 kg). The first stage of facing of the facade will conduct from 11 till 33 fl, from below upwards. The works will be carried out on vertical circles. The height of one circle meets to 4 fl, the installation works will conduct directly on 14, 18, 22, 26, 30 and 34 fl (here is necessary an installation of the special console crane for high-altitude works) Glazing will begin from the corner of the building and taking into account of the rather complex technology, the quantity of workers on one panel will be made not less than 8 person. « By means of the console crane established on a monolithic plate of overlapping of the building, working will conduct manually practically jeweler work on installation of the panel », - has commented the director of the construction Arthur Aleksandrov.
The panels established in "Federation", correspond to all requirements of durability, sound insulation and safety. Into structure of the panel enters single-chamber glass with double covering and the aluminium structure developed specially for the building. Close work of experts of the company Yuanda and institute of building physics has allowed not only to save time due to overlapping design stages and preparations of manufacture but also to receive a design with higher in comparison with made now in Russia thermal and technical parameters.

I agree. I also noticed that this is the only supertall without nice big renders. This is a great building and deserves a nice big render or two.

Unfotunately there are no any high quality big renders available to public. there was big version of this rendering. but unfortunately it is not final design and not really good quality. and unfortunately site where it was is not available and i didn't saved it.

Is that protective covering between the glass where the florrplates are? If so, I'm guessing it's to protect a metallic material while construction is going ahead.

Moscow is 1/10 of Russia (by population) and big industrial center. So Moscow getting most of its money from industry, which grew by 18% last year as i remember. Mineral regions are Noerthern Ural and Siberia. Those are much richer than Moscow.

Russia's economy is growing fast. I hope to see more and more cool projects coming in.

Not a fan....it looks like some crappy plastic covering that should be removed to reveal a nice stainless steel spandrel panel. The facade in general looks pretty nice but the cloud effect panel looks cheap and a little tacky IMO.

They count that double-height floor as two ones - ##33&34. So, at Bolik's shoots lev. 40 is completed, and today - lev. 41 already.

workers seem all chinese... pff if they can make it to Moscow they better make it to Tallinn... were so short of construction workers right now.... Poles are atm replasing Russians who normally work on Construction... but they fled to Finland :D

Next number is the hight of the building A, and the last one is the hight of the building B. Both buildings don't have spires. The spire is between of the buildings.

Excellent pics. The facade is so shiny and clean, the window cleaner is gunna have one heck of a job to top that. The towers will look great when finished, I'm definitly paying a trip to Moscow when they're done.

they does not waiting. they was working on second foundation slab. currently they working on -1 level, so i think they will rise above the ground until the end of july.

and it's still far away from the tip. there are 47 out 63 levels in tower B. tower C will be 2,5x taller of current tower B state.

Bloody hell this is starting to look big now and this is the smallest tower!!! Will look fanastic when completed!

Have to say congrats to Moscow on all their development go on, wish London could be brave enough as Moscow is and build their bloody approved buildings without much hassle!

Reason I ask is because the divide of wealth seems quite large in russia and after reading a book about Roman Abramovich and how he gained his wealth im interested to know. Abramovich made some kind of a deal with Russian government: Putin don't ask anything about his money while Abramovich should make a poor depressive region Chukotka rich and effective. And he did. I think it is a very good deal for all. If Berezovskiy, Gusinskiy, Khodorkovskiy and so on did the same, maybe we would live now in a much richer country...

Tower B is that currently tallest. It will be smaller tower - 242m 63f.
Tower A is currently in u/g levels. It is middle tower - 354m 93f.
Tower C is tallest. 448m. Construction is not yet started.

tower C is not only spire. there are elevators, restaurants, bars etc. spire begin at about 362,3m height. there are 130 levels in tower C. skybridge at 89 level of tower A going to 116 level of tower C.
