Finally, Jasmsil Lotte Tower 2 won the a approval today!!!
Its design derives inspiration from Chumsungdae,an korean astronomical observatory in Silla dynasty 1000 years ago.

The Tower, 112floors(555m), will be completed by 2010.

SEOUL, Feb. 22 (Yonhap) -- The Seoul Metropolitan Government on Wednesday gave the green light to the Lotte Group's bid to construct a 112-story building in southern Seoul, defying opposition from the South Korean military.

Jamsil Lotte Tower is nothing to do with Dubai tower of Istumbul.(not Istanbul?)
Why dubai tower of istumbul here, out of nowhere????

Also, dubai tower of istumbul is over 500m or received the approval?
There are already lots of towers over 300-400m in the world.
But there are few towers over 500m in the world right now.
That's the impressive thing for me.

Great news, especially considering the old design which was an Eiffeltower rip-off. This design is much better.

Wait a second. What about that twisting one I remember seeing a few months ago. There was a choice between a twisting structure and a non-twisting structure. Is this the same project?

I'm pretty certain it is the same project. I remember someone saying in that thread something along the lines of "Both of these were proposals, but a design has been picked and it is niether of these two". Everyone ignored them, but clearly they were right..

I recently read the news that one of the towers was turned down by the South Korean Air Force because it would interfere with flight paths.

Which project is that?
