This would be so cool, it looks abit like the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth harbour (below).

I can't see the point in a viewing tower in a city with so many hills which provide fantastic views of the city.

I can't understand how it can be commercially viable anyway.

Yeah it does seem pretty pointless, especially as we're now getting cable cars :lol:

This was an early idea envisaged as part of the Don Valley Sun casino project. It was intended to provide a marker for the project that could be seen for miles, particularly from the M1, and provide a tourist attraction with an observation deck and restaurant at the top. It was also conceived as a project encompassed in a much larger redevelopment of the entire Attercliffe area which included a gay village and amusement park amongst its many attarctions. Entitled "The Village" this is something that will take many years to develop, if in fact it gets built at all.

If they were to build something like this i think it would look great on the site of waitrose at the end of ecceshall road :-)

They just got planing permission for it, didnt you see ? Accessable by cable car........wait hang on..........oh thats the ski village :)
