I heard about this project many weeks ago. In my opinion, I think the current Kuwait airport should go through extensive renovation and a new airport hotel should also be built. Otherwise, I'm not really happy about the new airport Kuwait is building. Itll only make things more congested and more polluted like Dubai.
Anyways I saw the master-plan from one of the Kuwaiti-based English newspapers some weeks ago. The architecture looks brilliant.

Kuwait airport
SSH with Germany’s Dorsch Consult is working on a consultancy contract to update a masterplan for the upgrade and expansion of the Kuwait International Airport. The plan include the construction of a second terminal on a BOT basis.
The size of the second terminal has still to be determined: the existing runway’s capacity allows for a new terminal of up to 15 million passengers a year. KIA has capacity to handle up to 5 million passengers a year.

Im actually happy for Kuwait Airways. It isnt the right time for the company to buy a plane as large as the A380. However, we are planning to buy a couple of Boeing 7E7's. :)
Anyways its about time Kuwait decides to make a small private airport for the small aircrafts. Time for me to buy myself a small plane and cruise around Kuwait City. I hope I dont hit a tower though, since many highrise buildings are coming out in Kuwait. :D
