Answers....

1.The tallest mountain in Europe. Erlbus, Russia at 5,633 meters

2.The country which contains the single point farest away from the ocean. China, area north of Urumqi

3.The deepest freshwater lake in the world. Baikal in Russia at 1,741 meters

4.The three longest rivers in the world. Nile, Amazon, Yangtze

5.The tallest mountain in the world visible from the ocean. I had this as Mount St Elias in Alaska at 5,489 meters just 10 miles from the ocean although Aconcagua at 6,962 meters might just be visable 150 miles away from the ocean I spose.

6.The deepest gorge in the world. Yarlung Tsangpo in Tibet at over 5,000 meters deep on average with a maxium deepth of over 5,300 meters.

7.The country with the longest coastline. Canada

8.The flattest continent. Australia

9.The longest unbroken border between two countrys. Russia and Kazakstan at 6,846 km

10.The county with the tallest unclimed mountain in the world. Bhutan with Gunkar Punsum at 7,554 meters. A hard one I know but I thought someone might know that climing major peaks is illegal there due to religious beleifs and make a guess

1-Elbrus
2-Mongolia
3-Baykal
4-Nile, AMazon, Yan Tse
5-Mount McKinley 20,320 feet (6,194 metres) in Alaska, USA. The highest vertical climb. (Mount McKinley has a larger bulk and rise than Mount Everest. Even though the summit of Everest is 9000 feet higher measured from sea level, its base sits on the Tibetan Plateau at about 17,000 feet, giving it a real vertical rise of little more than 12,000 feet.)
6-Grand Canyon (as for Yarlung Tsangpo in Tibet to be a gorge it has to meet some special characteristics like the deepth being always larger than its width so as far as the Guiness concerns it's the Grand Canyon)
7-Canada
8-Australia
9-Canada-USA 8,893
10-Don't know

8. Austrailia...or Antarctica. I'll go for Australia.

Antarctica is actually the highest continent on average.

I'v also seen Rakaposhi in northern Pakistan, Dhaulagiri in Nepal and Namche Barwa in Tibet listed as havin the largest mountain faces.

6-Grand Canyon (as for Yarlung Tsangpo in Tibet to be a gorge it has to meet some special characteristics like the deepth being always larger than its width so as far as the Guiness concerns it's the Grand Canyon)

I don't believe there is an accepted scientific definition of the difference between gorges and valleys although the deepest of the latter is normally listed as the Kali Gandaki in Nepal which is just measured from two mountain peaks on either side of it. At any rate I'd say most would consider Leaping Tiger Gorge in Yunnan, China to be one at 3,900 meters.

9-Canada-USA 8,893

That includes the Alaskan border though doesnt it which isnt linked to the main border?

Antarctica is actually the highest continent on average.

Really? Never would have guessed that. I don't know much about Antarctica though, so no big surprise there.

Good quiz but a few quibbles. I think the Mississippi-Missouri system is longer than the Yangtze. Also for those claiming Grand Canyon is deepest true gorge, I believe it is actually shallower than Hell's canyon between Idaho and Oregon.

Also the tallest mountain visible from the ocean is probably Mauna Kea in Hawaii, but you have to measure it from its submerged base on the Ocean Floor.
