Some architecture does stand out, mostly new residentials. But renovations and reconstructions are done in the 19th century style which is nothing new to the area.

After you visit Kyiv, I guarantee you'll change your political views concerning current situation. That is if you visit in the near future, while Revolution is still in the air.

Yeah, maybe next time I should make a separate thread on a specific project :) I see some threads around here that attract more people which have 1 project that is similar to 100 projects in Kyiv :) just an observation

Kiev has many nice looking developments, actually the housing estates are some of the best I've personally seen.

For the last couple of years Kyiv sees more and more projects oriented at reconstruction, renovation and even brand-new construction of buildings for all sorts of purposes, meant to resemble architecture of the past. Particularly late 19th century, but not only.

Mostly because Kyivians are rather conservative about architecture and reject any "modern" implementations. Which unfortunately still make their way into the scene. Although the scale of construction of the 19th century classical-looking buildings is really revolutionary and unprecedented.

Waterfront approved construction. Between the new two proposed buildings is a funicular, a public transportation that "climbs" the hill.

As nice as it all is, I find that a lot of those projects which look to historic "forms" to be a bit on the tacky side in terms of the materials chosen and features represented in their construction. A lot of the accents - like window boxes or just ornamentation - are overtly large given the scale of some buildings.

Neo-classic architecture can be both awesome and impressive. I like they way old styles are used in buildings that are much bigger and taller than the originals they are inspired from. It wouldn't work here, but it is great if it works in Kiev.

City council has lifted any height restrictions in the area and the second proposal is a little bit higher. Exact height is unknown. But people have witnessed that fences are already in place around the future location of the tallest in Ukraine ( and Europe? )

Surrounding location in future will become the new business centre of Kyiv. Right now it's a commieblock district built under soviets. Has metro connection.

Many of you remember, or not, that I posted a cities solution to growing need of office space in Kyiv, which was a business centre or a "skyscraper cluster" as we would say. There were proposals for it ever since late 90's. The location is the same, it's Rybalski island - but this project is for real. It has been said on national television that it has earned Presidents support.

на території острова Рибальський
Необхідність побудови у Києві сучасного „Сіті-центру”

1. Наявність у практично всіх сучасних мегаполісах, світових та регіональних столиць відокремленого (локалізованого) центру ділової активності („Сіті-центру”) є не даниноюархітектурній моді, а суто прагматичним рішенням, яке дозволяє
* оптимізувати інфраструктуру і трафіки;
* створити привабливе середовище не тільки для ведення бізнесу, але й для постійного мешкання;
* зберегти історичні пам’ятки у їх природному оточенні, зелені зони, тощо
* і, головне, через все це створити справді довгострокову стратегію розвитку міста
2. Проблемою розбудови та розвитку „ділової” складової Києва є „точкова”, безсистемна офісна забудова, що призводить до:
* „перемішання” історично-значущої, житлової та офісної забудови, що погіршує естетику та ергономіку міста, а також умови як проживання, так і ведення бізнесу
* створення штучного інфраструктурного „голоду” та навіть колапсів при будівництві багатоповерхових офісних будівель в центральних районах міста
* створення проблем в комунікаційних зв’язках при будівництві офісних будівель в периферійних, а особливо – у віддалених від головних автомагістралей, аеропорту и т. п. периферійних районах міста
* створення додаткових трафіків між просторово відокремленими офісними центрами
* відсутність прозорих перспектив розвитку ділової частини міста в цілому

Оптимальність території Рибальського острова для побудови на ній сучасного „Сіті-центру”

1. Передумови та збереження історичної спадкоємності
* історично Київ формувався та розвивався як своєрідний „союз” трьох окремих, функціонально спеціалізованих частин: Старого Києва (Гори) – як адміністративного центру, Печерську – як центру релігійно-духовного та Подолу („Місто Поділ” – саме герб (печатку магістрату) цього міста – „Самостріл” з незрозумілої причини відображено на „Лядських воротах” на майдані Незалежності) – як центру „ділової активності”, головним транспортним та торгівельним вузлом якого було гирло річки Почайної, яка з півдня межувала з територією сучасного Рибальського острова. Таким чином, з самих первісних часів виникнення Києва територію Рибальського острову було „відведено” під те, що сучасною мовою зветься „Сіті-центром”
2. Інфраструктурні передумови, переваги та вигоди саме території Рибальського острову
* компактність та достатність площі, причому також з огляду перспектив подальшого розвитку „Сіті-центру”
* розвинута транспортна інфраструктура та можливості її подальшого розвитку:
- залізничний міст на північній частині території острову з подальшою прибудовою станції та перспективою створення кільцевої міської залізниці (через Південний та Північний залізничні мости)
- комплексний автомобільно-метро-міст на південній частині території острову із „своєю” станцією метро та потужною автотранспортною розв’язкою
- Московський міст (1 км. на північ від території острову) з прилеглою автотранспортною розв’язкою
- побудова транзитної автомагістралі через острів вздовж Дніпра та мосту, який з’єднуватиме цю магістраль з Набережним шосе на півдні, замкне єдину міську транспортну вісь „північ-південь”
- пряме з’єднання острову через новий міст метро з Дарницьким залізничним вокзалом та – через виїзд на Бориспільську трасу – з аеропортом
- можливість розбудови річкового порту

Опис концепції побудови „Сіті-центру” В підмурівок пропонованої концепції покладено ряд принципових положень:

1. Цілісність території як єдиного містобудівного комплексу
2. Функціональне та просторове зонування території
3. Єдиний багатоповерховий стилобат-подіум
4. Єдиний концентрований мультитранспортний вузол
5. Транзитна територія міського значення

Багаторівневий стилобат об’єднує споруди у цілісний містобудівний комплекс.

Перший, нижчий рівень стилобату є загальним для всього „Сіті-центру” рівнем інженерних комунікацій. На другому та третьому рівнях локалізовано автопаркінги з відповідними під’їздами та розв’язками (з одностороннім рухом). Для офісних споруд також можливо використання під автопаркінг четвертого рівня, для інших цей рівень відведено під торгівельні, сервісні та інші об’єкти.

В торгівельно-рекреаційній зоні (ділянки В1 – В9) передбачено 2 рівні подіуму. Три рівні під ділянками D4, D6 та D8 (житловий комплекс) забезпечує їх функціональне забезпечення і дає змогу „поступового спуску” до Дніпра. Загальною функцією стилобату є також забезпечення транзитної транспортної функції, системи зручних під’їздів до окремих будівель та можливість виїзду спеціального транспорту (пожежного, санітарного, тощо) на поверхню подіуму. Поверхня подіуму – пішохідна (в перспективі можливе використання „внутрішнього” екологічно-чистого транспорту) і являє собою частково озеленену (парк, бульвар, алеї, точкове озеленення) спільну для всього „Сіті-центру” просторову одиницю.

Концепція „Сіті-центру” передбачає функціональне зонування території. Головну формоутворюючу функцію несе офісний та офісно-торгівельний комплекс – конгломерат офісних будівель (С1, С5, С7, С2, С4, С6, С8, D1, D3, D5, D7, D9, D11, B10, B11, D13, D12, D14). Загалом це близько 2 млн. м2 площі. Згідно з розрахунками окупність будівництва офісних приміщень 3 – 4 роки. Територіальна, конструктивна та комунікаційна складові дозволяють будувати високі та надвисокі офісні споруди від 45 до 120 поверхів, чим забезпечується висока щільність забудови і високоефективне використання інфраструктури. Забудову планується здійснювати на протязі багатьох років „за необхідності”. При цьому єдиним обмеженням творчої фантазії архітекторів буде Кодекс забудови, фіксуючий єдиний цілісний образ „Сіті-центру”, відповідно до якого кожний сегмент відведено під певну поверховість та об’єм майбутньої будівлі.

Вздовж внутрішньої гавані планується побудувати 3 – 4-х поверхові ділянки з торгівельною функцією (А1 та А3) та спортивно-оздоровчій комплекс – басейни, спортивні та тренажерні зали, криті корти, тощо (А5 та А7). На гавань орієнтований також розміщений вздовж всієї її берегової смуги парк з кіноконцертним комплексом (В9). Ділянки А2, А4, та А6 відведено під торгівельно-офісні будівлі та адміністративний центр (мерію). Ділянку А8 зарезервовано під будівництво „Музею корпоративних колекцій” (див. Додаток 1).

Біля перешийку південно-західного мису (на початку паркової зони) зарезервоване зручне місце під можливе будівництво храму (див. Додаток 2).

Вздовж транспортної магістралі, яка пролягатиме в тунелі в стилобатній частині, буде організований пішохідний бульвар, доповнений „внутрішнім” ландшафтним парком, який планується розбити на території ділянок В1, В3, В5 та В7. Ділянки В2, В4, В6 та В7 відведено під будівництво торгівельно-розважальних закладів (ресторани, кав’ярні, паби, клуби, спеціалізовані крамниці, тощо) – забудови переважно не більше 4 поверхів з відкритими терасами – з відтворенням образності з елементами „ретро” задля створення затишно-домашньої атмосфери.

Готелі: на ділянках С3 та D2 пропонується збудувати два 3-х зіркових готелі на 4 570 номерів, а на ділянці D10 – 4-х зірковий готель на 2 240 номерів. В кожному з готелів додатково передбачено приміщення під ресторани, бари, центри сервісного обслуговування, тощо.

Вздовж Дніпра планується побудувати житлові комплекси типу „апартамент” (ділянки D4, D6 та D8) – як наймане доходне житло з розвинутою системою обслуговування.

Поблизу залізничної станції можливо будівництво окремого підземно-надземного автопаркінгу.

Переваги та вигоди пропонованої концепції побудови „Сіті-центру”

1. Комплексне вирішення проблеми розбудови та розвитку „ділової” складової міста на багато років вперед, концентрація та локалізація офісної забудови
2. Цілеспрямована капіталізація території, з багаторічною перспективою поступового розвитку
3. Комплексне вирішення наявних проблем підтримання та подальшого розвитку транспортної інфраструктури Києва та таких проблем, які мають виникнути найближчим часом за існуючої моделі офісної розбудови. Створення насиченого транспортного перехрестя саме „там, де потрібно”, тобто у діловій частині міста, „розвантаження” історичних та житлових територій.
4. Багаторівневе рішення, підйом відмітки на рівень 10 – 15 метрів
Переваги та вигоди:

* організація системи підземних колекторів
* організація локальних «цільових» місць паркування
* організація підземних адресних та транзитних автомагістралей, поїздів та виїздів
* організація одностороннього руху транспорту
* організація єдиного підземного пішохідного простору на верхньому підземному рівні з торговельними рядами й вхідними групами
* організація єдиного пішохідного простору на поверхні, яка перемежатиметься системою бульварів з «екологічним» внутрішнім транспортом
* організація системи парків та зелених зон
5. Подальше „розвантаження” Хрещатику шляхом переносу частини адміністративних закладів з нього та прилеглих кварталів на територію „Сіті-центру”, що дозволить передивитись (точніше, створити) завершену концепцію „мейн-стріт” Києва як справді культурно-рекреаційного та розважального центру (театри, кінотеатри, готелі, кафе, ресторани, парки, сквери, пішохідні зони, тощо)

Додаток 1


„МУЗЕЙ КОРПОРАТИВНИХ КОЛЕКЦІЙ”
Київського „Сіті-Центру”

1. Ідея:
* створення для міста „Супер-третьяковської галереї” за принципом об’єднання зусиль багатьох „Третьякових”;
* створення музею як „живої істоти” – такої, що постійно розвивається та росте за рахунок як поповнення колекцій, так і поповнення рядів самих колекціонерів-учасників;
* створення музею як „істоти із свободою волею” – ніхто заздалегідь не може передбачити, що саме колекціонує наступний колекціонер-учасник.
2. Передумови:
на сьогодні стало звичним, тобто модним явищем, коли респектабельні корпорації, банки та (або) їх топ-менеджери та власники збирають тематичні колекції, які з багатьох міркувань (корпоративні та власні амбіції, просування бренду, суто духовні потреби „поділитися” враженнями та втіхою з ближніми) час від часу експонуються для широкого показу. Київський „Сіті-центр” з часом неодмінно стане місцем великої концентрації таких приватних та корпоративних колекцій, кожну з яких треба буде окремо зберігати (створюючи відповідні умови збереження), охороняти та – час від часу – шукати шляхи та способи публічного експонування. Створення єдиного „музею корпоративних колекцій” не зніме всі ці проблеми, але й створить цілу низку додаткових виграшів та переваг.
3. Виграші та переваги:
* переваги для міста та його мешканців – дивись пункт 1 („Ідея”).
* переваги для інвесторів „Сіті-центру” – додаткова „капіталізація” вкладень через підвищення рівня елітарності місця – перш за все, за рахунок тих виграшів та переваг, які отримають їх майбутні клієнти (покупці).
* переваги для бізнесу:
- дивись пункт 2 („Передумови”);
- всі колекції, які експонуватимуться в музеї, залишаються приватною власністю їх володарів;
- створення музею як „елітного клубу” керманичів великого бізнесу, який:
* об’єднує їх за принципом „хобі”;
* стимулює їх амбіції;
* сприяє приєднанню нових членів через одне тільки бажання стати учасниками такого клубу;
* є ні чим іншим, як витонченим маркетинговим ходом, засобом створення нових „інформаційних приводів”, тощо.
4. Додаткові можливості:
Крім особистої колекції (і навіть за її відсутності), той чи інший власник (банк, корпорація, тощо) може також:
а) спонсорувати та організовувати показ тематичних експозицій з колекцій різних музеїв світу;
б) спонсорувати та організовувати обмін чи просто показ колекцій, зібраних у „хед-офісах” чи філіях своєї організації;
в) спонсорувати та організовувати обмін чи просто показ колекцій організації-партнерів, тощо.

Концепція Православної церкви
на території Київського „Сіті-Центру”
2 варіанти

1-ий варіант

Церква Пресвятої Богородиці („Десятинна”)

1. Ідея
„Зняти” проблему „відбудови” Десятинної церкви, зберегти історичний фундамент та історичне місце, яке на сьогодні не є оптимальним для будівництва. Проекти побудови цієї церкви вже розроблено.
Крім того, сама історична назва церкви є свого роду алюзією на ділові стосунки, що виглядає доречним з огляду на призначення самого місця.
Можна також певною мірою зберегти відображені в назві принципи побудови, наприклад: 1/10 коштів на будівництво – з бюджету країни, 1/10 – з бюджету Києва, 1/10 – Церкви и т. д. Нарешті, 1/10 – від народних пожертв.

2-ий варіант

Церква Віри, Надії та Любові („Нова Софія”) – пере-відтворення у первісному вигляді храму св. Софії Константинопольській

1. Ідея
Однією з геополітичних проблем Православ’я починаючи з 1453 р. є втрата її святині й матеріального символу – храму св. Софії Константинопольській, яка стала мусульманською мечеттю. У середньовіччі це могло б спричинити „хрестовий похід” за її визволення. В 21-у сторіччі пропонується новий «modus operandi» – не відвоювання земель заради звільнення святині, а її пере-відтворення з залишанням «невірним» тільки „фізичної оболонки”. Таке пере-відтворення є свого роду символом перемоги Віри над мирською суєтою та духовного відродження України як нового центру Православ’я.
2. Місто
Єдиною безперервною, тобто істиною історією Києва є його історія як одного з головних центрів Православ’я. Ми робимо заявку на перетворення його у головний центр Східного Християнства.
3. Місце
Ще княгиня Ольга порівнювала гавань у гирлі Почайній (а саме це місце відведено як потенційне для будівництво храму) з бухтою „Золотий Ріг”, на берегу якої й стоїть „Айа-Софія”.

My guess is that there will be at least 5 major political scandals, several dozens of protests, for and against, some court decisions and then in a few years, it will get built.

Every political party uses any/every construction in Kyiv for speculations and earning points, while something of this side either needs to have direct support from the very top or it will be part of a very long and dirty political bickering :)

Riverfront complete reconstruction project. Already partially U/C. Right now there's a highway going there, but according to the project, highway will be placed in a tunnel while the upper part will be turned into a nice pedestrian, touristy riverfront.

The bridge is actually not new. It's from soviet era. It's fully pedestrian. The only thing I don't like about the riverfront is its name, which is "Riverfront of European Union!" - that's so cheesy and cheap, sounds like we're yelling to EU "Hey, we like EU, take us!"..

Commieblocks will be built as long as majority are not rich enough to buy separate houses. But many would still prefer to live in the city, so some sort of commieblocks will always be built.

Construction of "Kvadrat on Perova" Shopping Mall Starts on the Lot of Demolished Movie-theater Aurora.

"Kvadrat on Perova" will be a three level mall with total area of 35 thousand sqm. Retail area - 20 thousand sqm. There will be supermarket, home appliances depot, 75 shops "gallery", 589 cars underground parking lot, and a movie-theater.

Within the next three years, the company intends to expand the network in Kiev by another 4 shopping centers with a total floor plate of 165 thousand sqm.

So the Elsburg plaza is 136m, eh? First it was 140, then it went to 120, either way, it looks really tall in its location.
Otherwise I'm interested in seeing how the "trizub" (or however you spell it in Ukrainian) does, it would be the tallest in Europe if built, but somehow I'm still not convinced it will go through. Even if they are clearing the area, I'm never too sure about construction in EE countries :D

Yes, Elsburg's height was not certain but now Max is sure that its 136. I'll post the rendering of the tower near it (forming the cluster ) which will be like 130-140m as well, as soon as we find it...

As to the super tall, you're right, there are always scams and scandals :D so we'll see how it goes, but right now it involves the most known architect and have been approved on all official meetings. We'll have one of the forumers go to that location and see what's going on there. But right now the talks are now getting more and more specific, like construction of a glass bridge across the highway from the subway station to have direct access to the sksycraper.

I always enjoy looking at the Kyiv projects, so many and yet everyone with the finest quality.

They're just what I call 'private' projects. Plus, the map does not include all major projects previously posted. The map is just 50% of what is under construction.

Whoa is all I can say. A true building boom in Kiev. We here in Toronto think we got a building boom, but it barely ammounts to one tenth of this. A few condo's here and there. It would be nice if we had someone on the ground to take photos of all the buildings as they are built.

The commie is going to be renovated with glass and made into an office building of some gas related company.

We're not sure, lol :D I think it was mentioned in several articles.. maybe... but Kyiv is on such a roll now, we got 23 u/c and starting construction over 30 floor projects and its the ones we know only. So it could be anything. This last year has been a skyscraper breakthrough for the city, never had anything similar happened. Unless we talk of a major expansion of Kyiv in 11th century :D

^yeah, up to a year ago, not a lot was going on for the Ukraine in these forums.
And then it just accelerated like a Ferrari, and blew everything away.
Although the only complaint is that some of the building designs are a little cheap.
Like you mentioned on that Bishopgates tower in London that it looked East European, I'm sure the Londoners didn't like that quote of yours :D

The museum is Yushenko's personal project. It's suppose to become Ukraine's main museum, like Russian hermitage.

Its actually a renovation of an old fort which stood on even older monastery, dating back a thousand years.

The Huge construction is to be the new Seat of the Ukrainian Catholic Church. They now have the head of the Church back in Kyiv. They were in Lviv previously.

100 000 000 гривен для здоровья киевлян

ЗАО "Метрика" при поддержке Киевской городской государственной администрации начала реализацию социального проекта по строительству медицинского центра по ул. Мечникова.

Проект предполагает строительство многопрофильного комплекса на земельных участках, которые отведены под это строительство за счет реконструкции Центральной городской клинической больницы, которая находится по адресу: ул. Шелковичная, 39/1. Этот социальный проект реализуется благодаря компании "Метрика", которая инвестирует в него более 100 млн гривен.

Запроектированный медицинский центр состоит из консультативной поликлиники, административно-хозяйственного блока и учебно-лабораторного комплекса.

Первая очередь строительства - это консультативная поликлиника общей площадью более 6,5 тыс. кв. м, рассчитанная на 600 посещений в смену. Административно-хозяйственный блок, площадью 6,9 тыс. кв. м, который будет обслуживать "Октябрьскую больницу" и офисный центр 15-30 этажей, площадью 43,4 тыс. кв. м.

Площадь нового медицинского центра будет почти вдвое больше той, которую занимала старая поликлиника, на месте которой он строится. Современные здания медицинского центра и офисного центра создадут единую градостроительную композицию и впишутся в общий архитектурный ансамбль улицы Мечникова.

Во вторую очередь будет строиться учебно-лабораторный комплекс, площадью 4,8 тыс. кв. м, для занятий студентов-медиков и повышения квалификации работающих врачей.

Общая площадь всей застройки - 128 617 кв. м, стоимость всего проекта - 535 млн гривен.

Инвестор планирует реализовать вторую часть проекта после строительства социально значимого объекта - современного медицинского центра. Это значительный вклад в развитие здравоохранения в Киеве. Начать строительство поликлиники планируется уже в мае этого года. Строительство первой очереди планируется закончить через 20 - 22 месяца.

Компания "Метрика", благодаря которой стала возможной реализация социального проекта, работает на рынке Украины с 2004 года, и уже зарекомендовала себя как надежный и серьезный партнер, способный работать с крупными проектами на высоком технологическом уровне.

Однако компания “Международно-деловой центр”, которая финансирует строительство отеля, уже заключила договор о передаче своего объекта в управление международной гостиничной сети Hilton, имеющей более 2800 отелей в 80 странах мира. В новой гостинице будет 257 номеров, 11 залов для переговоров, бальный зал вместимостью 350 человек, два ресторана, бары, а также spa-центр. Оценивается данный проект в 70 млн. евро.

Нижним этажом будут курсировать поезда метрополитена, верхний - шестиполосная трасса. В настоящее время производится монтаж моста через Десенку.В этом году планируется положить асфальтовое покрытие на набережно-рыбацком участке. Удастся ли открыть здесь движение транспорта до конца года - пока еще не известно. Загадывать заранее строители не берутся. По прогнозу экспертов, до 2020 года в столице будет более миллиона автомобилей. Поэтому Подольско-Воскресенский мост - неотложная потребность Киева. И мечта автомобилистов, которые смогут меньше стоять в заторах и быстрее доезжать к пункту назначения.

This enormous bridge is constructed in Ukraine for the first time. Work is conducted twenty-four hours. The length of two-layer giant will reach seven kilometers. On the lower level will be the metro, upper level - six-strip road. At present is produced the installation of the bridge through Desenku. In this year it is planned to place asphalt coating in the embankment- fishing section. It will be possible to open here the motion of transport prior to the end of the year - thus far it is not yet known. To conjecture previously builders are not taken. According to the forecast of experts, up to 2020 in the capital there will be more than million automobiles. Therefore Podolskiy- Sunday bridge - is in the pressing need of Kyiv.

All this construction in Kiev is mind-numbing...i just wish I had the time & money to visit it right now. But I gotta prioritize...last summer, it was Slovenia, Dubrovnik, Serbia & MOntenegro, this summer it will be Poland, Czech Republic & Slovakia...maybe next summer Kiev/Ukraine and Minsk/Belarus;)

High demand. It's a big growing capital city of a large growing country.

And despite the pace at which buildings are being raised, realestate prices are rising. Now downtown Kyiv is comparable to New-Yorks area around Central Park, in terms of prices.

Another factor is that Kyiv used to be held back because it was only a third-city in the Soviet Union, after Moscow and St.Petersburg. Now it's catching up to what it should be.

Два п'ятизіркові готелі з'являться цього року в Києві. Про це повідомив журналістів начальник Головного управління комунального господарства Михайло ШПАРІК. Як передає «ЛІГАБізнесІнформ», готельні комплекси будуть побудовані на Софіївській площі (на 234 номери) і по вулиці Богдана Хмельницького (на 140 номерів). ШПАРІК виразив упевненість в тому, що вказані об'єкти будуть введені в експлуатацію цього року. Ще один чотирьохзірковий готель на 71 номер планується побудувати в Подільському районі Києва. Крім того, в різних районах міста будуть побудовані чотири малих двох-трьохзіркових готелів на 112 номерів. У 2006 році в столиці повинні з'явитися 7 готелів на 557 номерів. Ще 20 об'єктів знаходяться на стадії проектної розробки. У розвиток готельного господарства планується вкласти 457 мільйонів гривень за рахунок засобів інвесторів. За словами ШПАРІКА, готельні комплекси будуються тільки за рахунок інвестицій, а не за рахунок міських бюджетів.

One complex will have 234 rooms and another will have 140 rooms. One more 4 star hotel will be constructed this year with 71 rooms. Also, this year thorught the city, 4 '2 star and 3 star' hotels will be built with a total of 112 rooms. In 2006 there are planned 7 hotels to be opened for a total of 557 rooms. 20 more hotels are in the project stage. For the expansion of the hotel business it is planned to have invested 457 million hryvnias through investors. Hotel complexes are being built only with investor money, not from money from the city budget.

В Гидропарке строят Киев


В Гидропарке начались работы по воспроизведению миниатюрного Киева. Украинская столица решила не отставать от Нидерландов, где есть мини-Амстердам, поэтому строители уже устанавливают на берегу Днепра копии храмов и основных зданий города.

В Гидропарке кипит работа: экскаваторы роют землю, выкорчевывая корни спиленных старых кленов и осин. Люди в спецовках вырубают кустарники и насаждают низкорослые кусты и карликовые деревья. Заметно, что спешат. Выяснить, что происходит на 2 гектарах одного из известнейших мест отдыха киевлян, помогли строители, которые работали здесь же.

По словам одного из строителей стало известно, что, "здесь скоро должен быть мини-городок, копия Киева. Наша организация занимается сведением здесь домиков, крыш и другого".

В преддверие Дня Киева здесь должен открыться культурно-просветительский парк "Киев в миниатюре", где, придерживаясь географической точности, установят 43 макета памятников истории и культуры столицы.

Александр Меншиков - один из инициаторов и спонсоров проекта. Говорит, что его макеты, сделанные из специального пластика, стоят по 5 тысяч гривен каждый. По словам творцов, макеты не боятся ни мороза, ни солнца, ни воды.

Миниатюрные копии давно имеют европейские столицы. Например, в Амстердаме работает музей столицы в миниатюре, где по расписанию работает железная дорога, и каждый дом повторяет свой настоящий прототип.

Как же будет выглядеть мини-Киев, можно будет увидеть 25-го мая.

Sorry it took so long to answer, I was looking for additional information to provide for you. The answer is yes, I do have some information. Today, the minister of youth, family and sports presented a conception of the stadium design. The English version of the site doesn't work, but I will translate some main stuff. First, this is the rendering for the stadium:

In this project will be included:

-Covered arena for ice-sports
-Sporting complex for various sports
-Trade/Entertainment Center
-Infrastructure to support the stadium

The stadium will be part of "Olympic Village" which will be 17 ha. The buildings' complex will be 350,000 sq.m.

Cost- 300 million Euro

Construction expected to begin in Fall of 2006 and end in Spring of 2009.

Currently, the project is under review.

Компания планирует построить спортивно-офисно-торгово-развлекательный комплекс высотой 60 этажей, расположенный на улице Здолбуновской ( Дарницкий район ).

Общая площадь комплекса составит 334 тыс. кв.м., а его инвестиционная стоимость оценивается в 339,5 млн. долларов.

Комплекс будет состоять из нескольких блоков: гостинично-офисного высотой 60 этажей и площадью 127 тыс. кв. м, еще одного отдельного офисного блока площадью 38 тыс. кв.м., аквапарка площадью 6,9 тыс. кв.м., первого в Украине подводного ресторана на 450 мест площадью 7,4 тыс. кв.м., торгового центра площадью 27,5 тыс. кв.м, производственно-офисного комплекса площадью 33 тыс. кв. метров, встроенного паркинга на 1,5 тыс. машиномест площадью 53 тыс. кв. метров.

Для постройки аквапарка и первого в Украине подводного ресторана, компания планирует благоустроить находящееся рядом с площадкой заброшенное озеро.

По словам представителя компании, строк реализации проекта составит 50-60 месяцев, а период окупаемости от 4 до 6 лет.

Данный проект планируется реализовать поэтапно с привлечением сторонних инвесторов.

У Києві з’являться двоповерхові автобуси

Управління туризму, готельного господарства і курортів Київської міської адміністрації хоче взяти під довгострокову оренду в британської компанії 8-12 автобусів для проведення туристичних екскурсій столицею, повідомляють Українські новини.

"Нещодавно ми провели переговори з одною лондонською компанією, що запропонувала нам запустити такі двоповерхові автобуси, де оразу на 6 мовах проводять екскурсію...ми всі ці питання вивчили, підписали ( з компанією ) проект намірів, і думаю, що вони підуть нам назустріч, і в нас згодом з’являться такі автобуси", - Про це сказав начальник управління Микола Грицик.

За підрахунками управління, таких автобусів у Києві потрібно 8-12, однак підкреслив, що гроші на них у міському бюджеті на 2006 рік не передбачені. "Ми провели питання так, щоб вони ( компанія ), можливо, могли дати нам у лізинг, а для того, щоб вони ( автобуси ) працювали так системно, як у Лондоні, їхній повинно бути не менше 8-12, інтервал руху в них має бути приблизно 45 хвилин", - підкреслив Грицик.

Управління вже проробило можливі маршрути таких автобусів. Труднощі виникли в тому, що маршрути таких автобусів повинні пролягати там, де немає тролейбусних ліній. Крім того, за словами Миколи Грицика, для роботи на таких екскурсійних маршрутах, персонал має пройти навчання в Лондоні.

Чиновник висловив надію на те, що компанія надасть Києву такий автобус для експерименту вже до 2007 року. "Попередньо вони ( компанія ) дали нам згоду, що нададуть нам один такий автобус, що міг би курсувати якийсь час, наприклад, місяц-два-три, на тих умовах, що вони нам скажуть", - сказав Грицик.

Також він повідомив, що реалізацію квитків на ці екскурсійні маршрути планується проводити навіть у Європі. "Реалізація квитків пройде по всій Європі, тобто Лондон буде продавати екскурсійні квитки на ці екскурсійні маршрути", - сказав він.

Київ розраховує на 200 тисяч туристів на “Євро 2012” з футболу


Управління туризму, готельного господарства і курортів Київської міської державної адміністрації розраховує залучити 200 тисяч туристів і вболівальників під час Чемпіонату Європи з футболу в 2012 році. Про це журналістам сказав начальник управління Микола ГРИЦИК, передає “proUA” з посиланням на “Українські Новини”.
"Якщо ми говоримо про майбутній кубок УЄФА в 2012 році... до нас може приїхати, за підрахунками організаторів, не менше 200 тисяч туристів і вболівальників", - сказав ГРИЦИК.
Він висловив упевненість, що спільна заявка України і Польщі на проведення чемпіонату переможе в тендері, і фінал чемпіонату відбудеться саме в Києві.
У зв`язку з цим ГРИЦИК вважає за необхідне побудувати в Києві 70 нових готелів до 2012 року.
Також він сказав, що управління має намір активізувати інформаційну роботу з реклами туристичних можливостей Києва: збільшити кількість екскурсійних маршрутів, створити мережу інформаційних центрів для туристів, поліпшити кваліфікацію екскурсоводів.
Крім того, ГРИЦИК вважає, що київські музеї повинні зайнятися власною рекламою.
"У нас сьогодні недостатня реклама музеїв... вони (музеї) говорять, що до них мало заходять, але щоб (туристи) знали, де ці музеї, треба про себе говорити і якось заявляти", - вважає ГРИЦИК.
Також він повідомив, що управління досліджувало мотивацію приїзду до Києва іноземних туристів і визначило, що, в першу чергу, це бізнес, оздоровлення, лікування і релігія.
Мер Києва Леонід ЧЕРНОВЕЦЬКИЙ пообіцяв УЄФА (Європейському союзу футбольних асоціацій) підготувати столицю, зокрема модернізувати її транспортну інфраструктуру до чемпіонату Європи з футболу в 2012 році.

Київський метрополітен купив 15 вагонів у російського "Метровагонмашу"

Комунальне підприємство "Київський метрополітен" купило 15 вагонів метро у підприємства "Метровагонмаш" ( Митищі, Росія ). Про це повідомив представник "Київського метрополітену", передає “proUA” з посиланням на “Українські Новини”.
Він не уточнив суми контракту.
Презентація складів відбулася в Дарницькому депо.
Планується, що 15 вагонів, які складають 3 потяги метро, використовуватимуться на Святошинсько-Броварській лінії.
Потяги будуть виведені на лінію до Дня Києва ( 27-28 травня ).
В.о. заступника голови Київської міської державної адміністрації Іван САЛІЙ сказав на презентації, що зараз ремонту потребують 120-160 вагонів київського метро, а 137 вагонів повинні бути списані.
САЛІЙ вважає, що Київ повинен налагодити власне виробництво рухомого складу.
Він упевнений також, що необхідно розробити закон "Про метрополітен" і збільшити фінансування цього виду транспорту.
Пасажирооборот метрополітену - близько 1,7 мільйон осіб на добу.

У Києвї представили найбільшу футболку в світі


Гігантський символ підтримки української футбольної збірної був представлений у суботу в центрі Києва, повідомляє «Інтерфакс-Україна».
Українська столиця в ці вихідні святкує День міста.
Жовто-блакитну футболку розміром 34 на 30 метрів з написом Ukraine організатори планують продемонструвати також в Берліні, де пройде ряд матчів в рамках Чемпіонату світу-2006.
У її створенні взяли участь українські вболівальники, які повинні були взяти участь в акції однієї з крупних міжнародних фірм. При покупці її продукції потрібно було зареєструватися за "гарячою лінією" або шляхом SMS. Таким чином, кожен учасник одержував індивідуальний код. Кожен код додавав декілька сантиметрів до майбутньої футболки. В цілому українські вболівальники зареєстрували 39 729 кодів.
Перед подорожжю на Чемпіонат світу футболку зареєстрували представники "Книги рекордів України". Пізніше інформація про досягнення буде направлена в Книгу рекордів Гіннеса.
Колишній рекорд по створенню найбільшої футболки був зареєстрований у ФРН.

Кияни святкують День Києва


Кияни почали святкувати день столиці і День Києва, повідомляють Українські новини.

На набережній Дніпра біля моста Метро о 9:00 почався чемпіонат Києва з рибної ловлі, що завершиться 28 травня.

О 10:00 у музеї народної архітектури та побуту в Пирогово почнеться фестиваль повітряних зміїв, а на Андріївському спуску - виставка народних ремесел і мистецтв, яка триватиме і 28 травня.

Також о 10:00 на вулиці Добрий шлях почнуться міжнародні змагання з велосипедного спорту на шосе.

Фінал та нагородження переможців велопробігу відбудуться 28 травня з 10:00 до 15:00.

З 10:00 27 і 28 травня на Трухановому острові відбудуться міжнародні змагання з марафонських запливів у ластах.

На Спортивній площі перед Палацом спорту об 11:00 почнеться фестиваль їжі та напоїв швидкого приготування "Смакуй та обирай".

Фестиваль завершиться о 18:00 і повториться 28 травня.

На причалі Річкового вокзалу о 12:00 стартує регата з вітрильного спорту.

Тим часом, з 14:00 до 18:00 на Співочому полі Печерського ландшафтного парку відбудеться всеукраїнський фольклорний фестиваль "Пан вареник", а на Хрещатику напроти Бессарабського ринку - фестиваль дитячого гандболу.

О 18:00 на Михайлівській площі почнеться концерт "Класичне мистецтво - киянам!", і концерт на Європейській площі.

На Майдані Незалежности концерт почнеться о 19:00.

28 травня о 9:00 біля арки Дружби народів стартує міжнародний турнір з кікбоксингу на кубок Києва, який завершиться о 22:00.

Тим часом з 10:00 до 11:00 на Майдані Незалежности почнеться традиційний благодійний пробіг "Під каштанами".

У цей же час у Гідропарку стартує турнір з пляжного волейболу.

Організатори планують облаштувати парк ігровими майданчиками з гігантським унітазом, водним тиром, риболовлею для дітей, а також провести шоу мильних бульбашок.

З 11:00 у Маріїнськ парку почнеться фестиваль підліткових клубів за місцем проживанням, а на майданчику біля Київської міської державної адміністрації - соціальна акція "Дивися на мене, як на рівного".

З 12:00 до 14:00 на Співочому полі відбудеться конкурс "Київський вальс" серед випускників шкіл, а після нього - концерт аматорських колективів.

Тим часом на Майдані пройде турнір з вуличного баскетболу.

Концерт за участю відомих українських виконавців на Європейській площі почнеться о 18:00, на Майдані - о 19:00.

Також представник Головного управління культури і мистецтв повідомив, що 27 і 28 травня о 22:00 на Майдані Незалежности відбудеться феєрверк.

У свою чергу представник Київського метрополітену заявив, що робота метро в ці дні продовжуватися не буде.

Нагадаємо, що Київська міська адміністрація заборонила рух транспорту по центральних вулицях 27-28 травня.

З 9:00 до 23:00 у ці вихідні заборонений рух транспорту по Хрещатику, з 18:00 і до завершення святкових заходів - на Європейській площі, з 11:00 до 23:00 - по Контрактовій площі і вулиці Сагайдачного.

День Києва святкується в останні вихідні травня.

The amout of construction in Kyiv is really stunning. Some of them are great, like the Elsburg building. But to be honest, others could be much much better. The old beautiful Kyiv doesnt deserve to be sourrounded by some of those monsters, no offence.

Kempinski построит пятизвездочный отель в Киеве

Произойдет это не ранее, чем через три года. В 2006-2007 гг. в столице пять других интернациональных отельных операторов планируют возвести целый ряд 4- и 5-звездочных отелей.
Эксперты считают, что сегмент дорогих отелей еще не заполнен, поэтому их услуги будут востребованы.


Международная гостиничная сеть Kempinski ведет переговоры о строительстве отелей в Киеве, Харькове, Ялте, Одессе и в Западной Украине, но только по столичному проекту переговоры подошли к завершающей стадии, сообщила «Эi» официальный представитель Kempinski в Украине Наталья Гурьева. Сейчас Kempinski рассматривает три проекта отеля в столице, предложенные украинскими инвесторами. «Из трех проектов мы выберем один», — говорит г-жа Гурьева. По ее словам, стоимость реализации проекта гостиницы на 250-280 номеров составляет в среднем $50-60 млн. О конкретной дате окончания строительства представитель Kempinski пока умалчивает, ссылаясь на коммерческую тайну, но отмечает, что открытие отеля произойдет не ранее, чем через три года. К тому же в Украине гостиничный бизнес очень сложно развивается из-за бюрократических проволочек. «Для того чтобы получить разрешение на строительство гостиницы, необходимо более 100 подписей», — жалуется г-жа Гурьева.

Это уже вторая попытка Kempinski покорить украинский отельный рынок. Несколько лет назад компании удалось открыть одну гостиницу в Одессе, но из-за разногласий с ее владельцами в одностороннем порядке она разорвала договор и вышла из проекта. Г-жа Гурьева говорит, что, несмотря на этот печальный опыт, украинский рынок является одним из приоритетных для Kempinski. По ее словам, в Украине, в частности в столице, существует острая нехватка гостиниц высокого класса. С этим мнением согласна и директор отдела продаж московской гостиницы Hotel Balschug Kempinski Алла Беликова. «На рынке Киева нет ни одного достойного отеля в интернациональном управлении. И нет ни одной интернациональной группы отелей, которая имела бы весомое имя на мировом рынке», — заявила г-жа Беликова.

В то же время, по словам директора компании Castle Development Валерия Кирилко, в 2006 г. в Киеве готовится к открытию три 4-5-звездочные гостиницы на 643 номера, операторами двух из них выступают международные сети Hyatt Regency и Rixos Hotel. На 2007 г. запланирован ввод гостиницы интернациональной сети Accor, а позднее — еще и сети Hilton. Г-н Кирилко считает, что места для строительства этих отелей в столице хватит. «Место для гостиниц есть. Даже на том же Крещатике», — говорит Валерий Кирилко. В то же время PR-менеджер отеля Redisson SAS Павел Олтаржевский считает, что украинский рынок 4-5-звездочных отелей еще не заполнен: «Международный бизнес в Украине еще развивается, поэтому востребованность качественного обслуживания будет».

По данным Castle Development, в Киеве расположены 112 предприятий гостиничного хозяйства различных форм собственности емкостью 15 тыс. мест.

Сеть Kempinski объединяет 52 пятизвездочных отеля по всему миру. Группа Kempinski работает как оператор, не приобретая отели в собственность.

Місто хоче будувати готелі, а не будинки


Загальна вартість проектів по створенню готелів в Києві, які заявлені і знаходяться на стадії реалізації, перевищує 3 мільярди гривень.

Як повідомив начальник відділу організації і координації діяльності установ розміщення Головного управління комунального господарства Київської міськдержадміністрації ( ГУКГ КМДА ) Юрій Галушка, створення цих об'єктів передбачено програмою розвитку туризму Києва до 2010 року.

За його словами, цей документ передбачає будівництво готелів загальною місткістю 4,3 тисячі місць, а також мотелів-кемпінгів - на 1,2 тисячу місць. На ці цілі буде направлено 3-4 мільярди гривень.

"Це повна вартість проектів і все це - кошти інвесторів. Від держави потрібна тільки правильна політика", - сказав представник міськдержадміністрації.

Галушка також повідомив, що ГУКГ неодноразово пропонувало надавати пільги по оплаті оренди землі інвесторам, які будують готелі, у тому числі і для проведення Чемпіонату Європи з футболу в 2012 році.

"Головне, ми постійно готуємо пропозиції по розвитку готельного господарства. Зокрема, вже починають поступати пропозиції від районів по відведенню земельних ділянок під будівництво готелів", - сказав він.

В той же час Галушка відзначив, що пропозиції ГУКГ про виділення будівель, які можна було б реконструювати під готелі, поки не знаходять розуміння в районних адміністраціях столиці.

Крім того, він повідомив, що Головне управління комунального господарства планувало виконати функції замовника по розробці моделі молодіжного готелю і будівництву двох-трьох таких готелів.

"Відповідно до програми розвитку туризму Києва до 2010 року в 2006-2007 роках повинна бути розроблена модель молодіжного готелю з подальшим впровадженням. Це дозволило б забезпечити достатньо високий рівень комфортності при доступних для молоді цінах - до 100 гривень ( за добу )", - сказав він.

Міжнародна мережа готелів "Хілтон" через два роки побудує в Києві 26-поверховий п`ятизірковий готель.

Про це пише газета "Факти", повідомляє ICTV.

Скляні панорамні ліфти готелю розташують ззовні будівлі. Ще один писк моди – прозорі ванні кімнати та внутрішній декор із цінного рожевого граніту.

Скільки коштуватиме номер у готелі, поки не відомо. Найдорожчими будуть президентські номери й номери для дипломатів.

Планують побудувати готель на бульварі Шевченка, навпроти Ботанічного саду, за проектом архітектора Джона Сіферта.

Зараз у Києві є два п`ятизіркових готелі – "Прем'єр-Палац" та "Редіссон".

It depends on your defintion of skyscraper. We generally (at least in Ukrainian section) give the title skyscraper to buildings over 30 floors. By such standards, we have over 25+ skyscrapers then and it's growing. If you want to to lower the specifications and say 25 floors is a skyscraper, then we have over 100 :)

A skyscraper's definition depends on the person, but to me it's anything over 120m or 30 floors.
Below that it's a simple highrise, and below that is a midrise, and so on.
Anyway, as to the Parus, according to your definition it is not a skyscraper. Actually, a lot of skyscrapers aren't skyscrapers, not even the famous Reliance building, nor the more famous Flatiron.
Also, you don't build skyscrapers on a whim.

Highest building in Ukraine is currently at 37th floor. It's a massive residential. There's nothing taller than it except in Warsaw and Moscow.

Hey, Stanislav, what can you tell me about AeroSvit? They fly Toronto-Kiev route, but how good are they? I'm thinking about buying a ticket soon and just spending a few days walking around Kiev:yes:

Maybe this coming November...or early next year.

AeroSvit is pretty crappy in terms of service and you will have trouble understanding their english :D it's not too bad, but worse than more prestigious, western airlines. Though it's usually cheaper.

If you want to go early next year, I could show you around, if my current financial and education state of affairs hold up to my expectations.

Yeah I know, Parus is just .. wow :D just recently I didn't expect something of this quality to appear in Kyiv
