A blend of high rise + Architecture + Greenery.. there is a difference between huge skyline and best skyline. re-read it. So no wonder this is best (any for many excluding few).. Naan solradhula enna sir prachanai ungalukku??

Besant Avenue - This is the road I like the most in Chennai, more than the roads in Poes Garden or Boat Club, in spite of the fact that my brand new Ford Fiesta on day 1 was dented on this road by a motorist. :cheers:

Actually your are not exactly correct. All World war memorials atleast in former british empire countries are maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commision. This is setup with funds from all commonwealth countries including INDIA. In madras case the Cemetery is maintained in PARTNERSHIP WITH THE GOVT OF INDIA. Which means that effectively it is maintained by GOI(Indian Army) under the aegis of CWWG. Every year at the day WW2 ended a bugle is sounded by the army honour guards for 2mins and wreathes are laid.It is a stunning cermony which really brings home the importance of india in WW2,effectively the largest voluntary force to ever fight in WW2.

Question for you how are these beaches broad(like Marina) or narrow and small and in the evenings is it crowed.

^^ I went in the morning. Not sure about the evening. None of them are as broad as the Marina.

Palavakkam beach was crowded in the morning. Neelankarai beach is dotted with fishing hamlets, and the folk use the sands as an open toilet in the morning. Not a place to visit.

Akkarai and Injambakkam beaches are cleaner and devoid of people.

But for real pristine beaches (dotted with casuarina groves), you need to cross the ECR Toll Plaza at Uthandi and go further south.

It is very critical govt make this four beaches Neela,Pala,Aka and Inja as upscale beaches of New Chennai like Elliots.:)

A park popular with local residents for morning and evening walks in chennai. Actually it is not all that small, it can take in a whole football field and still leave some place around. Till six decades ago, the site was a large water body - in fact no more than a mosquito infected smelly pond of stagnant water - till local residents led by Nageswara Rao Panthulu, the founder of Amrutanjan who lived in a house facing the park, had it developed as a park. The city gratefully named the park after him.
The park is one of the few green places in Chennai. Its flower garden is well maintained in winter. Films are shot here. Good landmark and a great place to live near, except that you can not get a view of the park - its tree cover around the walls is quite dense.
