Anybody knows any info about Barwa Tower other than that posted before??
I find it really strange that there is nothing about this one on the net. The only picture was that one taken of a newspaper, but no renders, models, anything!
I mean a 100f skyscraper can't hide! It can never be a secret! Why aren't there any press conferences, websites, construction photos? I find it kinda wierd... What do you think guys??

All the projects in Qatar are like a dream. I see them posted here, but we never hear anything or see anything afterwards, like the national library and Barwa tower. Anyways, I talk to my friends in Doha and they always say that there isn't anything new.

Well, please share whatever will be said...
I also agree with both of you about the crappy design. Who knows, maybe it looks better. Only renders will show that...

Never heard of it actually. Can anyone show a rendering of the building so we know how it looks like?
If you want it to get more attention you could post it in the main forum.

The government of Qatar should publish information about this tower everywhere due to its importancy.
I think the name of this project will be changed to "SECRET TOWER".

I really honestly think that the only secret is that the govt itself doesnt know whats really going on. I dont think they really have much of a plan.. theyre gona build and as they do theyll finish up the plan.

just read on the newspaper an article about that read the following

They should really make a really good plan.
Finishing the plan while building is really crazy! Especially for a 100f tower. What will they do if they found something wrong? Will they just blow it to ground zero or what?!
They really shouldn't be messing with those big "boys"!

QNB Al Islami signs QR1bn financing deal
Doha • QNB Al Islami, a branch of Qatar National Bank and Barwa Real Estate Company, yesterday signed QR1bn Islamic Financing Agreement.
The agreement will be utilised in financing Barwa’s real estate investment projects in compliance with Qatar Central Bank’s regulations on real estate financing.
Ali Shareef Al Emadi, Acting Chief Executive at QNB, and Ghanim Bin Saad Al Saad, Chairman of the Board and Managing Director of Barwa, signed the agreement at a ceremony held at QNB’s Main Office in Doha.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ali Shareef Al Emadi said that while QNB Al Islami is set to handle the financing part of the operations, Barwa will handle the real estate activities, the projects and investments management and all technical and administration issues related to the real estate field.
Furthermore, QNB Al Islami will be committed to provide economic and moral support to enable Barwa to carry out its ambitious projects.
“This partnership is part of QNB’s plan to participate in the economic renaissance, especially the real estate sector in the country. We are confident that Barwa is the right partner for such an activity, not to forget that Islamic Banking is rapidly growing and is expected to have a prosperous future. This gives the agreement its unique Islamic Shariah compliant feature”, Al Emadi said.
Ghanim bin Saad Al Saad stated: “This agreement is the result of cooperation between two of the largest financial and real estate institutions in Qatar, QNB and Barwa. It also reflects Barwa’s desire to prioritise dealing with local banks and financial institutions to meet its financial and investment requirements”.
“With this agreement, Barwa and QNB Al Islami will put their financial and technical abilities at the disposal of the real estate sector in particular and the national economy in general.
“This will help financing and executing the gigantic projects on which Barwa has been working on recently, in addition to its future projects with a mid and long term strategy”.
The signing ceremony was also attended by Abdullah Mubarak Al Khalifa, Assistant General Manager, Corporate Banking at QNB, Musadag El Melik, Executive Manager of QNB Al Islami and Abdel Magid Satti, Head of Credit Department at QNB Al Islami. Although the article didn't mention the tower directly (only 'ambitious projects'), but still... This is a good start! :D
