Be it high-rise, or low-rise, what buildings that are going up really hurt your eyes?

ok the michelangelo is already up, but i cant stand that one...of the ones not yet up i realy dislike The Palms at the point (too bland and oh so dated). Hibernian must be my least favorite high rise tho, its just too confusing to look at, no singular look, it wants to be everything

I like Hibernian Towers, Strand. It's spectacular with the three cones topped with round hats. I think it's the best looking new building for the Strand as it will stand out.

What I think looks horrid is the new 70's style Moyeni Tower on Durban's beachfront. It's so monolithic and looks less spectacular than the 40F Mont Blanc which was built in 1985.

Moyeni, Durban - Probably the most outdated looking new apartment development I have seen!

Metropolis, Cape Town - Could have been classy, but ended up overdesigned and shamefully ugly and confusing.

You are to blame

Go to the thread LINKS TO DEVELOPMENTS :) You will find everything there... perhaps we should post them in here.

oh, do post it in the Moyeni thread!! please! I was hoping they'd redesign it and now my hopes are up :)

I hope they start construction ASAP, that is, if the redesign is pleasant.

theres nothing wrong with the height, its the design, so impractical! the outside looks okay i guess, but inside, yuk! then u have to walk up that unstable steel stair case to the top to find this puny ECR station.

I would say the most disgusting eye-sore would be the planned bedformed square in, wait for it, Mediterranean vomit style! Oh my goodness, monkey see, monkey do!
