damn...its along 85 and not downtown....grr Greenville desperatly needs a nice new tower downtown...something in the 20 story range.

Exactly. But the thing is, Greenville is really feeling the pressure to make a name for itself along I-85, being situated between the economic heavyweights of Charlotte and Atlanta. Since I-85 doesn't run through or relatively near downtown, businesses locating along the interstate provide a viable way to do that. But I REALLY, REALLY want to see Greenville's core mature and densify in terms of business developments, more than businesses locating along I-85.

Which makes sense to try to attract people, but after you get some density downtown.

Right. But the bright light at the end of the tunnel is that Greenville's leaders have done such a great job in turning downtown around, I'm hoping that the momentum along I-85 will naturally trickle over to downtown and that it will do so fluidly.

Well, Greenville did indeed land this deal. Great economic shot in the arm for the Upstate and for SC.
