there's been at least 5 brum banners i think, i did a couple of skyline ones and fusionist did a excellent green hued one! some others have chipped in with some montage banners as well, i think out of all uk cities we ve probably had the most up there! there used to be a brum banner thread, but i think we lost it! i cant remember the link for putting them up there now ? anyone?

Centre City Tower still looks pretty dirty, don't think it has had a clean up yet. From a distance, this building doesn't look that impressive, but when you stand underneath it, it seems huge. It is one of the more under-rated buildings in the city centre, if it had a clean up, and perhaps change the glazing, it could look quite smart.

I really like this building even thou it is a big dirty bastard. I may be doing some work in here in the near future so I'll get some shots. Warm yourself on a CCT sunset :)

City Centre tower is one of the uglyist buildings in the city yet i can't help having some affection for it. I think it is the podium style i quite like it's quite unique in the city now that Post and Mail has gone.

Definitly needs a proper reclad. I heard the figure of £5million is to be spent sprucing it up.. is that enough for a Quayside tower style reclad (Broad st after the Hyatt) as that was a complete transformation.

Great shots Foxtrot. This building, when it is cleaned up, should be illuminated .... it it would definately brighten up Smallbrook Queensway on a dismal winter night!

£14 million rings a bell for the sprucing up of Quayside Tower, but that included internal work to the building too.

I worked at CCT and the interior of the building was brought up to scratch several years ago. I'd suspect that the £5m is purely for external work. Does anyone know if that would be enough for a reclad?

£5m would be enough to replace the windows and clean the concrete, and install some interesting lighting (provided nothing untoward is discovered). Not a reclad I would imagine.

I think I prefer the aged grey to the orginal light brown concreate and Brown windows, or maybe it was just a grey day. Can't see them going back to the orginal 70s look myself.

i think they just need to put big large windoes, and give it a lick of paint

^^Paint flakes off so is bad.

I like the idea of either dark or mirrored windows forming long stripes on the side though - that would look pretty funky. And and night, up-and-downlighters along the channels in the side would really enhance the building.

Hmm.. I think I'd like Silver full length Mirrored Windows and the concreat back in it's orginal light, err.. honey, colour.

I'm in an argumentative mood today.. i really don't like the way this tower looks it needs a complete re-clad.
I do like the basic shape, but that's about it.

If it just gets a clean and a bit of lighting it'll never be enough, it'll still be brutal and ugly and awful at street level - especially at the rear..

I like it at street level, I think it fits in well with concrete curvey thing over the road and err. Norfolk House (?) next to it. I like the vertical stripes, I like the podium,I just wish the tower bit was, 5 stories or so, a bit taller.

The weird thing is, if you stand on Hinckley Street looking right up at it, it looms massively and appears to be much taller than the Rotunda (which itself isn't that high and yet is listed as 15 feet taller than CCT) at such close quarters. Appreciably taller than the 250 feet height it is supposed to be.This to me is the best view even though the street is a bleak back-alley sort of place. The CCT really dominates here - in a similar way to how Manchester's Sunley Tower dominates Parker Street when you crane your neck upwards at it.
