I was watching AI, and I thought the bridge scene to rouge city was fantastic.

Which makes me wonder: Are bridges like this even feasible? I'm no bridge expert...but with a bridge this long and high, I didn't see any cables or anything to support the weight besides a few columns. Of course it's just a movie...but still...

Do you like these 3 bridges? Or are they too creepy (e.g. driving inside a mouth?)

In AI (Artificial Intelligence)

Remember in this movie, theses bridges are entrance to something like Lust City, so i think their designs are rather descriptive.

Creepy and ugly, architecture should be more abstract in its symbolism.

lol I remember starting this thread...I guess i should give my opinion now.

Anyway, I actually like these bridges. I don't consider it as architecture but more like enormous statues incorporated onto a bridge. It reminds me very much of this old concept visionary drawing I saw from the late 1800s that had a steam locomotive in a future NY or London going through a giant statue in the shape of a man's (king's?) head! And the steam from the train came out of the nose.

These triplet bridges seem to be a more modern uptake on that. And notice that the middle bridge is a man...and not all of them are women.

I akin these bridges to just gigantic statues (Easter-island style) in the middle of the river. It's a form of art in the same way that they use the same form with fountains and having the water gush out the mouths of animals and humans. Applying almost the same concept...

or that ancient wonder of the world statue where ships had to sail between his legs. I think it all just comes down to having epic entrances to ports and cities.
