^Japan in the house <Baby~Baby =)>.
lochinvar March 18th, 2006, 12:41 AM Wanch, I'm pretty sure there is a much better picture for Filipinotown at the corner of Amar and Azusa in West Covina instead of just a banner.
Fern~Fern* March 18th, 2006, 03:30 AM ^ There's nothing wrong with the banner. It really means a lot when you have a district in the City of LA named after a great community. So I think did (Wanch) did a hell of a job!!!!
Robert Stark March 18th, 2006, 08:58 PM I know there is a little india in artesia, but as their numbers grow there will probably be another one closer to LA. I have noticed a lot of indians around Palms. maybe they will have them in all major cities like chinatowns.

I don't know of a Filipino town in West Covina but I know one in Los Angeles which is around the Rampart Area.
Unfortunately, that's the only photo I can find!
Fern~Fern* March 21st, 2006, 02:42 AM ^ I know their is a big Pinoy community in Arleta.
PotatoGuy March 21st, 2006, 02:45 AM lol, when I saw that picture of Monterrey Park I like seriously laughed out loud
Manila-X March 21st, 2006, 05:11 AM ^ I know their is a big Pinoy community in Arleta.
Filipinos are everywhere. I happened to be half Filipino :)
Besides The Historical Filipino Town, the only places I know are Eagle Rock / Glendale and Carson. Especially Carson since the town had an influential Filipino mayor.
Facial March 21st, 2006, 05:40 AM LOL ... Monterey Park. (btw I'm from Monterey Park)
Fern~Fern* March 21st, 2006, 06:08 AM ^If i'm not mistaken I believe Botox is MP as well. Unless you guys are like roomies or something?
godblessbotox March 21st, 2006, 05:15 PM ^^ not yet good sir. i will be moving to the area, be it a little east on saterday, good god i hate moving but this should be the last for a long long time
Louman March 22nd, 2006, 06:32 AM All the Filipinos get is the sign that says "Historic Filipinotown"? What about a photo of Jollibee in Eagle Rock? haha.
lochinvar March 22nd, 2006, 11:03 AM According to U.S. Census Bureau, the Filipinos are the biggest Asian community yet it is one of the most invisible community. A mere banner will just make it even more invisible. Temple Street Area was once the choice of place of early Filipino immigrant. But just like a buggy, it may be the best buggy, but it is still a buggy.
dono March 22nd, 2006, 11:51 AM what about south asians, middle east folks, central asians, russians :)
lochinvar March 22nd, 2006, 03:29 PM what about south asians, middle east folks, central asians, russians?
I simply dono. Got info?
godblessbotox March 22nd, 2006, 04:54 PM glendale seems to have a large eastern mediterranean / eastern europe population
svs March 22nd, 2006, 07:38 PM what about south asians, middle east folks, central asians, russians?

South Asians are all over the place but there is a concentration of Indian/Pakastani stores and restaurants along Pioneer Blvd in Artesia. Good Vegetarian food and Indian Ice cream if you know where to look. Also the best place to buy spices in bulk in the county. There is a smaller enclave in Culver City mostly along Venice Blvd. near the Hari Krishna temple. There is a wonderful Hindu temple in Malibu Canyon close to Mullholland.
Persians tend to live etiher in the OC or in Beverly Hills/ Westwood/W.LA. The westsiders tend to be jewish rather than muslim. Shopping is most concentrated along Westwood blvd. south of Wilshire, but can be seen along Santa Monica Blvd. in W. LA as well.
Russians are mostly in West Hollywood/ Fairfax/ and Hollywood. Stores along Santa Monica and Sunset between Hollywood and the Strip. The central Asians I have run into are mostly either ethnic russian or Armenian. The Armenians of course are either in East Hollywood along hollywood blvd. and Sunset west of Western or in Glendale. Check out the Carousel restaurant in Glendale or the Armenian Bakeries in east Hollywood.
The Isrealis are mostly concentrated around Pico just south of Beverly Hills. There are also a lot of Arabs in the Glendale area. Many of them are Christian Copts or Maronites.
The two biggest mosques I know of are in Culver City (on Washington) and just across from USC.
Robert Stark March 22nd, 2006, 10:19 PM Ive noticed alot of indians around the palms area.
Fern~Fern* March 23rd, 2006, 06:27 AM Is there an Australian community in the LA area?
Manila-X March 23rd, 2006, 08:34 AM One thing, there's a big population of Armenians in Glendale and nearby areas. Westwood has a sizable Persian community and also Lebanese. And West Hollywood does have a Russian community.
Australians? I don't know but I know a no. of them live in beach cities in Orange County like Huntington Beach. Sta. Monica on the other hand has a sizable British community.
