The Land of Queen Sheba (Saba)
http://www.queenofsheba.info/images/sheba-books01.jpg
It is sad that most of the photos show the poor life of most of the Yamani
people. Still they have such impressive agricultural and historical lands.
Most of the photos are from villages.
Soon I will post Nature, Architect and legend of Yemen in a separate thread.
Popular people:

Reza Yes Yamanis are nice and very friendly, you cant imagine how
friendly they are but let me tell you something, there is no nation that has
%100 beautiful or all ugly, and if somebody told you they are all beautiful this
is a big proof of a lie ;). All also depends of how you look at physical beauty,
some cultures, the small eyes to be too black are considered top beauty,
at the end I red in many sources the beauty similarities between Arab and
Persians are very identical, so we have similar flavor while maybe African or
Europeans don’t agree with our flavor.
Yes Qatar4ever It is a major reason reason why people feels somehow
dull. It affects the brain so badly, even on the adult photos I provided you
could see them selling it and some people have balloon in their chicks which
means they are chewing on it. It is part of the Yamani culture. About %80
of the people use it if not more.
Here are some problems caused by “Qat” as I got it form this site:
http://www.somalilandtimes.net/2003/59/5902.htm
The effects of Qat on the body
Qat is primarily a depressant for the central nervous system and hence
should be classified as a mind-altering drug. One may argue that Qat is a
stimulant and not a depressant because a person starts to move and walk
faster immediately when he eats Qat. I say this is because of its depressing
effect and not because of its stimulating effect. Qat depresses the inhibitory
centers in the brain.
Our finer qualities are judgments, social limitations and shyness, talking only
when necessary, self control. These are the qualities that distinguish a
human being from lower animals, and these qualities are first to be depressed,
and hence the person who eats Qat reverts to more primitive behavior,
becomes garrulous and talkative, judgment is impaired, thereby causing easy
to lose temper, car and other accidents, unjustifiable behavior and wrong
decisions.
Qat first depresses the higher brain centers called the neo-cortex (new-
brain) found in human beings, which control judgment and their learned
inhibitions; hence the person may become garrulous and anti-social. The
association cortex that associates sensory information and relays it to the
motor areas is very large in human beings and this association cortex clearly
sets humans apart from all [animals].
As Qat chewing continues, the deeper and more primitive areas of the brain
are depressed, leading to loss of motor co-ordination of the muscle-skeletal
system of speech and vision. When more Qat is eaten the respiratory and
cardiac centers in the medulla are depressed and the person becomes
comatose.

Arab decent because her name is Saeeda Sultana.
I hared long time ago a song of her called (Welcome to Saudi Arabia) it was
kind of funny :D. But I remember she was using some really impolite words in
Arabic at her song.
But! Are you sure she is a man? Her voice is so feminine and she looks more
woman then man to me.

http://archnet.org/mediadownloader/LibraryImagesBig/image/13617/0/IAA0305.jpg
Since its founding 2,000 years ago, Sana'a has been a major trading centre
for south-eastern Arabia. Once a seat of government for the early Islamic
caliphs, it is today the capital city of Yemen. Typical houses in Sana'a rise to
as many as nine stories. The lower levels are usually built of stone, and the
upper ones of lighter brick. The windows are outlined in white gypsum and
have fan lights of alabaster or coloured glass held in gypsum tracery.
Each corner & each house has a story

a neighbor from Yemen named (Umm Al A3jm). She used to make Hijab. If
you need anything from her I will be your connection ;).
It is so funny how those old women in the building spread rumors of that
lady! One of the rumors she brought a chicken from Yemen to Jeddah with a
matter of seconds! (Barakatek ya Umm Al A3jm)

Hidalgo was racist against Muslims and Arabs
criminal movie
Anas Anani
July 26th, 2005, 01:36 PM
hidalgo is a fake movie it was really ridiculous they say its ''based on a true story'' actually there was no such race in the arabian peninsula... and rammusen isnt an arabic name... the racist creators just wanted to feel good.
If you go to there website they have a pic of bedouins and they say its the only evidence to proove hidalgo thought the ironic thing is they were all bedouins not a single american.... and this picture was seen on a govermental website in jordan talking about a story for bedouins that has nothing to do with hidalgo lol...
Ruwaydr dont forget holywood loves arabs and muslims ;)

I wonder if these villages and cities have running water or electrictiy lines....doesnt seem so from these pics, unless they are underground. Anyhow, I saw a video on Yemen and it was so wonderful.
aden does have running water and electricity. infact sanaa has sweat water. aden is not a village it has about 500k population.

These pictures are so stunning, beautiful and exotic. Sanaa looks like a big chocolate town. I don't know but for some reason I feel like eating the buildings there. They look like chocolate biscuits to me :)

Yemen is my most favourite country. I really want to visit Yemen next year
But I was informed that if I want to make visit out of Sanaa I need permission from Ministry of Tourism Yemen.
This is a big problem for me.
Also I was informed that there is no public transportation between Sanaa and the countrysides
Also this is a huge problem
Because I dont possess international driving license.
I really hope that I can meet a Yemeni friend who can show me around when I travel to Yemen next year.
Because until now I dont have any Yemeni frens.

Yemen is so beautiful...
I visited it twice to visit family in Aden (My father spent his childhood there before moving back to Somalia) but I haven't visited since I was young, I would love to go there again...
First thing to see would be Sanaa for sure.

Sana looks lovely... I just love the architecture, I wish we heard more about countries like Oman and Yemen, sounds like they're quite neglected in the Gulf, however, they look like the most attractive countries in the area to me, they have some impressive legacy as I can see.

^^ Anton, Oman or Yemen are not in "the Gulf"
Unless if "the Gulf" (I'll take a wild guess that you mean the Persian Gulf) includes The Gulf of Oman, Arabian Sea and Red Sea :|

I know shugs, I didn't mean it geographically, I know those countries are not on the Persian Gulf, but I was just refering the countries of the Arabian peninsula, I talked about the Gulf in a broader sense.

Fair enough.. still doesnt make sense if you ask me.. why not say Arabian Peninsula then? Yemen in particular no where near the Persian Gulf lol.. But maybe I'm just being picky...

Yes I think you're being picky... and the map wasn't necessary, I know where each of the countries I mentioned is, I guess I just have a mental association of Oman and Yemen with Gulf countries like Saudi Arabia, the UAE, etc... and that's why I said what I said. My apologies if it upset anyone.

The first picture shows the city of AZAAL, the oldest living capital on planet earth, you know it today as Sanaa. The city was firts built by the Great King Saam the son of NOAH the Great, whose empire reached the four corners of earth, about 16000BC.

Qat makes you lazy, makes your teeth fall out, and makes your eyes pop up like an alien! :puke:
It's the Horn of Africa's (and Yemen's) version of Alcohol. Once you chew, you can't stop.

Olive, thanks for the pictures!!! They are really impressive and educating since I have no idea what Yemen is all about. Keep up the good work. I've also heard that the Yemenis are excellent businessmen and traders and most of the guys are good-looking. lol!
