It needs to be surrounded by multiple asphalt parking lots, themselves ringed by sweeping expanses of underutilized interstate expressways. Let's not forget the obilgatory, gaudy 13 story luxury hotel. Then, and only then it will attain civic beauty!

Just kidding, Lexington has a fantastic built environment. The various architectural treatments of the building facades reminds a bit of downtown Mobile. :)

The downtown area reminds me a lot like Columbia, SC.
