yes I know a few folk having probs with NTL. I hear most of the probs are up North though.

Always hated NTL. We bought the whole package off them back in 2000, and then once we had the TV, they said we wouldn't get interactive until 2006, the internet NEVER worked properly etc etc.

Moved back to BT, Sky and Pipex for the Internet. No Problems :)

Try using a personal page.
You have to wait 5 seconds for it to think about opening the page...and then other 5 seconds for it to load your personal settings.

Google does that instantly.

Well, it's only a beta so far, I'm sure the real version will be quicker :)

That could be another flaw on it, it should be made easier for advertisers.

Thank God, I don't live in The UK. You have got like 'limits' to your 'data trafic', haven't you?

they might sponsor a crap football team, but i've never had any trouble with pipex. bt on the other hand, don't get me fucking started. one of their engineers physically cut my telephone line only last week...that on top of a myriad of other problems.

On that subject our New Telewest High Definition Sky-plus-type box turned up today and IT FUCKING ROCKS!!!

HD is well worth it, and even better Telewest install their box for free and already offer HD programming, whilst Sky will charge a mint for the box, extra for the HD programming, and don't even offer HD yet anyway.

Barry Vorn = Porn. He's suggesting you're an utterly rabid masturbator.

My NTL is acting up, as usual. Ebay doesn't work. Happened a few weeks ago. And often the connection dies for no reason and I have to unplug the ethernet and plug it back in, which really fucks it up when downloading something.

Is working fine for me now except the net re-connects every 15 mins or so.

From NTL World:

ntl broadband customers maybe experiencing slow / intermittent webpage browsing due to a network fault. We are working to resolve this fault as quickly as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Update 1:21am:

This issue is still ongoing. We are working to resolve this fault as quickly as possible.

I recon you could call this another internet problem but this is a funny one. I had hosting with fasthosts(dont ever get hosting with them) and I wanted it cancelled because I had changed and I never used it. I sent a bunch of emails and phoned them up afew times and no one ever answered. So I just changed my bank details so they couldnt charge me. Anyway this morning I got an email from them saying that I owe them £3.99 + vat and they are going to send a debt collection agency for the money owed. £4 bloody pound and they are going to send a debt company round cheeky monkeys. No one will ever come round even the debt company would tell them to take a hike. If someone does come round i'll give them a brick and a some grass from the back garden. I think that will cover the costs. :)

I got the same problem with 1+1, except i decided to cancel after a couple of years - from the day i confirmed i wanted to terminate the contract with them, i was presented twice with a letter from a debt agency.I only settled about 5 months ago, it lasted a year in total, for something that should have been settled in little under a week, saying they never received any faxed confirmation when i did sent them so.
If anything, that taught me to keep all emails as a back up for future references, because most companies are very likely to contradict themselves from one email to the other, or they'll tell you they never got your faxed confirmation or email, when you know they did because you requested a receipt, and they simply lost or didn't file the communication. But it's your word against them, so keeping all com. is vital.
