Zozo, dat is wel een vrij prachtige stad.

Inderdaad een onderschatte stad blijkbaar, ook ik herzie mijn mening er over. Ik kende het enkel van er voorbij te rijden op de snelweg naar het zuiden, waar je enkel de grijze grauwe blokken van de banlieues ervan ziet. Na deze reeks wel een city-trip waard denk ik. :yes:

Ongetwijfeld een van de mooiste Franse steden! De vershillende invloeden van het verleden vormen toch een mooi geheel. Prachtig!

Al een paar keer in Lyon geweest en ik wist al langer dan vandaag dat dit een prachtige stad is. Heel onfrans ook. Ook door dat heuvelachtige landschap krijg de stad een beetje een Spaanse invloed.

L'influence architecturale sur l'ancien Lyon est plutôt italienne - elle fut longtemps ville relais entre le royaume de France et les principautés italiennes - mais l'influence me semble clairement parisienne dès le XIXème siècle.

Lyon is ongetwijfeld een zeer mooie
gezellige stad.
Ik moet er binnenkort zelf eens een

Allemaal erg aardig maar ik vind het toch allemaal net iets te veel lijken op Parijs. Logisch dus dat mensen niet speciaal naar Lyon rijden als in Parijs ook alles te zien is maar dan meer aanwezig. De romeinse monumenten zijn wel interessant.

Mooie stad, al enkele keren voorbijgereden maar nooit gestopt.
Ik vind het in tegenstelling tot wat alfa zegt heel verschillend van Parijs met uitzondering van enkele wijken. Het heeft al meer het zuiderse sfeertje zoals in Zuid-Frankrijk.

Je sais ,je lis les sujets tous les jours, me semble une ville qui bouge forte.
Ce qui m'etonne c'est que plusieurs décisions prennent longtemps pour être réaliser.
Aujourd'hui j'ai lu dans l'Equipe qu'on nouveau stade sera bati à Venissieux dans les années prochaines, après Nice et Lille la 3ième en France!

Lyon me parait une ville idéale pour faire un city trip!

J'y pense de plus en plus à prendre le TGV et passer un long week-end de 3-4 jours à Lyon. Capitale de la gastronomie française Miam !! :bow:

Je trouve dommage qu'une ville comme Lyon n'ai pas un quartier d'affaire digne de son envergure. Deuxième ville de France, une agglomération qui approche les 2 millions d'habitants, etc. Lyon se trouverait en Allemagne, elle aurait un quartier d'affaire comme Frankfurt! ;)

Quoiqu'il en soit, Lyon parait être une destination incontournable en Europe pour visiter une ville plein de surprise, de culture et de savoir vivre.

Schitterend! waaaw

Indrukweekend, zowel dat Feest van het licht als die muurschilderijen!
Die zetten met hun schitterende realistische 3D-tekeningen de toeschouwer vaak op het verkeerde been.
Toch een bezoekje waard, geloof ik.

Ziet er heel mooi uit. Hun voetbalclub wordt niet onderschat. ;)

Prachtig. Maar vergis je niet. Lyon is wel degelijk een populaire citytripbestemming. Komt ruim aan bod in de meeste citytripbrochures.

Lyon heeft trouwens ook een mooie metro, vind ik. Niet dat ik die ooit werkelijk gezien heb. Ik ken Lyon enkel van foto's, en van er snel door te rijden op terugweg uit het Zuiden.

Trouwens, de man van het lichtplan, Roland Jéol, die ook afkomstig is van Lyon, heeft ook delen van oa. Parijs en Turijn verlicht, en is ook de man achter het lichtplan van Gent.

In elk geval een stad die een bezoekje verdiend.
Ben er ooit met de TGV voorbijgetuft op weg naar Avignon en Marseille (de TGV had pech en werd door een dieseltje terug tot in Lyon gebracht...10 uur onderweg i.p.v. 5...) maar zo te zien hadden we net zo goed in Lyon kunnen uitstappen.

Hier il ne faisait pas trop mauvais, alors j'ai remis ça. Mais cette fois du coté de la X-rousse ! Départ au bas des pentes du cote du passage Gonin pour atterrir, après une laborieuse montée, sur la place Rouville (1). Ensuite direction le jardin de la Grande Cote (2) via la rue Burdeau et la montée de la Grande Cote.

Le Jardin de Montréal :

S'intégrant dans le cadre du Parc des Hauteurs sur la colline de Fourvière, le Belvèdère Abbé Larue offre une vue splendide sur la ville, avec la Saône à ses pieds.

C'est dans le cadre de la coopération entre les villes de Montréal et de Lyon, que le Belvédère Abbé Larue a été réaménagé par des paysagistes montréalais :

En septembre 2000, c'était un jardin montréalais qui avait été aménagé par des concepteurs lyonnais (Jean-François Gavoty, Guerric Péré). La réalisation de ces deux jardins marque le 20ème anniversaire de coopération et d'échange entre les deux villes.

Als je op weg naar het zuiden Lyon doorkruist lijkt de stad een aaneenschakeling van verpauperde flatwijken en olieraffinaderijen. Tijdens m'n vakantie laste ik een bezoekje aan Lyon in, en de stad bleek verassend mooi te zijn. In de volgende serie een impressie van het centrum van deze mediterane stad en een paar foto's van de banlieus.

Lyon is behoorlijk heuvelachtig en lange trappartijen zijn zeker geen uitzondering. In dat (en meerdere opzichten) heeft de stad veel weg van Luik.

Uitzichtspunt (in Marseille heb je een soortgelijk punt) over de derde stad van Frankrijk, qua inwonerstal is Lyon met Den-Haag te vergelijken.

En zoals elke stad heeft ook Lyon lelijke wijken, hier een woonwijk met daarachter de grote oliebedrijven van Fina.

Sommige Franse voorsteden staan bekend als gevaarlijke getto's. In de verte zag je meerdere grote flattenwijken, vermoedelijk de banlieus van Lyon. Opvallend vond ik enerzijds de bosrijke villawijk, met daarachter de commiebloks.

De wolkenkrabber van Credit Lyonais in het zakencentrum Part Dieu. Met een hoogte van 165 meter een van de hoogste wolkenkrabbers van frankrijk. In deze wijk is nu ook de Tour Oxygene (ruim 100 meter hoog) in aanbouw.

La Clayette, een dorpje in the middle of nowhere.Het dorpje ligt in een prachtig heuvellandschap, het centrum is pitoresk, maar aan de rand van het dorp ligt een vervallen industrieterrein. Het contrast tussen de uitgebrande auto en het oude kerktorentje was opvallend.

(Al had ik toch wat meer vlammetjes verwacht, gezien de topictitel) ;)

Ik dacht dat Lyon nog wel een pakje groter was dan Den Haag. Ik dacht dat het vergelijkbaar was met Brussel. Nuja, het is altijd zo goochelen met cijfers, je moet er eigenlijk in staan om het gewaar te worden, en dan nog geven sommige steden de indruk groter te zijn dan ze echt zijn, en omgekeerd.

Ik dacht trouwens ook dat het de 2e stad van Frankrijk was, niet de 3e. Ma bon, da's eigenlijk dezelfde discussie.

Ik heb de stad ook alleen nog maar gezien vanuit de wagen, op doorrit, maar mijn indruk was noch die van een grauwe industrie, noch van een bruisende grootstad. Ik wil er wel eens heen, oa. ook omdat het bekend staat als de gastronomische hoofdstad van Frankrijk.

Ik heb toch al veel positieve gezaken gehoord over Lyon. Om te wonen zou het zeker 1 van de aangenaamste Franse steden zijn.

Mooie serie, Lyon is hier wel eerder de revue gepaseerd.
Lijkt me best wel een aangename stad voor een citytripje van enkele dagen.
Nog zo'n stad op mijn aanzwellend to-visit lijstje
Op foto's 5 en 7 zie je hoe waardevol en leuk een mooi aangelegde rivierkade kan zijn.
In Antwerpen hebben ze dat inmiddels ook wel begrepen, maar vragen ze zich nu naarstig af waar ze met al die auto's moeten blijven...zal dus nog wel ettelijke jaren duren.
Dat 'potlood' van Credit Lyonais vind ik maar niks. Het staat wel stoer daar, maar toen ik het voor het eerst vanuit de TGV opmerkte, dacht ik dat het om één of andere enorme, logge fabrieksschoorsteen ging.

Ik hou er wel van om een stad van 2 manieren te laten zien, de mooie en de lelijke kanten. De titel suggereert misschien wat meer schoonheid, heb de stad maar kort bezocht (helaas...) en geen foto's (behalve van de baseliek) van mooie, oude, machtige gebouwen (en die zijn er genoeg).

Op het Holland forum kreeg ik al eenzelfde reactie en je hebt gelijk. Hoewel de stad op zich ongeveer hetzelfde inwonerstal heeft als den-Haag, is de agglomeratie beduidend groter en is de stad meer met Brussel te vergelijken. hoe dan ook, Lyon kwam op mij over als een echte, grote zuid-europese stad. Als je in de buurt bent zeker een aanrader om eens naar toe te gaan. Voor een city-trip heb je de stad in denk ik , maximaal 3 dagen wel gezien.

Kades zijn idd mooi aangelegd en er wordt ook veel gebruik van gemaakt. Er zaten honderden mensen te genieten van het mooie weer en het was er gezellig druk. De CL vind ik zelf wel een mooie toren, maar de directe omgeving (Part-Dieu) is geen aanrader. Vanuit de trein zag ik alleen maar saaie, vaak niet al te mooie kantoorblokken.

Het was gewoon een flauw woordgrapje omdat de titel eerst "verassend" ipv "verrassend" was hoor :)
De mooie en de minder mooie kanten van de stad laten zien, is dan weer een goeie keuze :)

Oh nu snap ik het, goed gevonden trouwens. :lol:
had niet gezien dat ik een typefout had gemaakt.

Lyon kwam op mij over als een echte, grote zuid-europese stad. Als je in de buurt bent zeker een aanrader om eens naar toe te gaan. Voor een city-trip heb je de stad in denk ik , maximaal 3 dagen wel gezien.

Ik vind dat je met 3 dagen als eerste kenninsmaking misschien een uiterst kort overzicht van de stad heb gemaakt.
Sommige wijken echt goed bekijken vergt veel meer tijd: een wijk als La Croix Rousse kun je onmogelijk op één dag doen, hetzelfde geldt voor le Vieux Lyon waar uitstekende kleine restootjes zijn te vinden net als op le presqu'ile waar je voor een uiterst goede prijs ronduit een prachtige maaltijd voorgeschoteld krijgt.
Gezien dit een architectuurforum is raad ik aan la Confluence te bezoeken , je maakt er zo een daguitstap van.

Sta me toe wat bijkomende info te geven bij de beelden:

Het is jammer dat je op foto 21 niet stilstaat bij wat je als foto genomen hebt: Villeurbanne met een mooi staaltje art-déco , de schoorstenen in de verte zijn die van Bugey

Op foto 6 les Berges du Rhone: een volledig vernieuwd wandelparadijs langs de oevers van de Rhone, recentelijk aangelegd.Met de tram kun je er gedeeltelijk langssporen.

Foto 18 toont de wijk Les Minguettes in Venissieux , niet direct het visitekaartje van de stad , beetje een no-go area.

Op 19 de betonnen bakken van Rillieux gebouwd op een heuvelrug achter Cuire.Mooi verzorgde buurt en redelijk dicht bebouwd.

Zoals velen denken is de 'potlood' terecht het enige hoog wat Lyon heeft én waar het gebouwd is is een pure bouwkundige flater van jewelste.
Men probeert nu met een nieuwe 110m hoge toren wat beterschap te brengen maar...

Wat ik echt jammer vind is het ontbreken van foto's van de 'traboules' , slingerende binnenkoertjes tussen de overdekte steegjes in de binnenstad.
De overvloedige nieuwbouw tussen de stations Part Dieu en Brotteaux is echt een stevige wandeling waard.Ile Barby , le quartier internationale ,

Wist je dat je 4 dagen nodig hebt om alle murs-aux-peints te zien...

Mocht er iemand van jullie ooit eens willen heengaan laat het me gerust iets weten , ken de hele stad als mijn broekzak :)

je kent de stad behoorlijk goed zo te zien. Bedankt voor de aanvullende uitleg. Ben zelf maar iets van 5 a 6 uurtjes in de stad geweest, veel te kort, maar met een laatste trein die om 18:00 was, kon het helaas niet anders. Als ik nog eens in de buurt ben ga ik zeker nog eens naar de stad, vond het echt een verrassing (net zoals Marseille, ook een slecht imago, maar wel een fantastische stad, al is het er wat vuiler dan in Lyon, een echte havenstad)
