Nothing special, but I went up to the top of Cambridge Suites when I stayed there for my friend's iron ring ceremony a couple of weeks ago. I was hoping to get more of a tour done, but I'll try to do that next time I'm in town...probably in June.

That's it for now. I'm hoping to hit up a few small towns in the next couple of months (getting back to my normal threads), but I'm going to try to get a more thorough tour of Halifax done as well....as well as an updated tour of Sydney sometime this summer...so watch for those. ;)

Awesome panos!

I was sitting in class the other day looking out at Spring Garden and I've come to the conclusion that I don't like the Martello. I think it could have been so much more! The massing of the building is pretty good, but the cheap materials detract from it. It would have been great if the glass portion was all glass instead of adding that purpled colour metal. And if the concrete facade was more bold to contrast against the glass then this tower would have been amazing.

Indeed, I had a similar thought when I saw it.

I agree with you on the martello, but I still think its one of the better looking buildings in town. I still like it :)

Hmmm I really like the Martello, I'm surprised to hear that others don't. It is leagues beyond the horrible faux art deco Paramount apartment building with those hideous black tinted windows, uck!!!

To me the only dissapoinments in the Martello are the columns supporting the arch feature at the top of the building (the initial renderings did not have these columns). The entrance is the most dissapointing. The weird fancy stonework does not fit in with the glass and modern design.

Nice panos mate - looks like a lovely city you've got there. Glad to see your bid for the Commonwealths will bring some more attention to the city - which looks to be very underrated as far as I can tell!
