Anyone got any construction pictures of this one. I remember it being on this forum awhile ago and haven't heard anything for a while. I couldn't even find a topic on it? Disappeared? Its at 120 Mary Street

Is there any construction happening at all? Seems quiet?

They had that burst water main incident last year that slowed things down a bit. The site office had to be removed.
I'm pretty sure there is action on-site again (there was last time I looked).

I'm a fan of this tower. It looks good. Add this to River City, 212 Margret, Felix, Festival WhatEverTheyBuildThere and Baroque and that end of town is getting quite a bit of density.

There is a tower on the site but I haven't been down that way to see where they are up to. Next chance I get I'll have a look and let you all know.

Why the different tower crane is a new contractor developing the site ??????

JayT

Hmm, I never noticed that and I walk past all the time. There are/have been about 4 other towers going up immediately around it and its the smallest of them so nobody pays much attention to it.

anyone got a height for river park central ? I cant find it anywhere. if not an estimate would be good enough.

oztraelian
October 2nd, 2003, 05:55 AM
well i understand that it will be 30 floors so given that residentials are roughly 3m per floor, you'll be looking at around 90m.

However, you may need to take account of a slighter floor height (say 2.7m, therefore a total height of 81m, which seems too low)
and you must also account for the spire atop which couldnt be more than 10m, if that.

Final estimate, ~90m or ~100m including spire.

The fact that no one has bothered to aquire the official height really reflects the general indifference toward this project.

JayT
October 2nd, 2003, 06:09 AM
Who cares how high it is - you won't see it from anywhere anyway. It'll just add to the density.

Not many people are interested because its surrounded by about 8 other towers - all taller - that are either proposed or going up. It'll be quite small and hidden when finished.

It hasn't moved much since last picture! I think for a narrow highrise, RPC has a good design, just wish it was a tad taller.

Probably level 23 or 24 because the top floor slab is 22 according to the numbers on the builders lift.

I got my ticket in that old girl, hand slew legend that it is!! must be nearly time to put the old girl out to pasture i think, i been searching for a 350 mark 2 #402 i think for a couple years now thats what i graduated on but no luck yet

It was out to pasture. It was the crane right at the gate in the middle yard, where the old white thiess watkins white 250 still may be at the back of the same yard. I was quite suprised to see it pulled down out of the yard and go up. There would be a certain old possum that would now be heartbroken and homeless as it used to live down on the slew motor next to the cab door.

By the way, i've never come across # 402 since I started looking at the numbers, but will keep an eye out, keep the numbers coming. That white one over the lane down here is M380D # 1184, 27 newer than dooleys 220 which is #1157.

I didn't know this was going to be a Quest (the serviced apartment chain).
http://www.questapartments.com.au/property/fs_display_property.asp?propertyid=259
That means it's not residential but essentially a hotel doesn't it. The units arn't strata titled are they? - like they are owned by Quest. Can you rent one of these long term?

Also wasn't there a Quest on North Quay?

They're probably just managed apartments (ie. Strata Titled, but if you want to rent yours out, Quest will do the onsite management for a cut)

River Park Central apartments are strata titled however the owners have the option to place thier property under Quests Management for corporate rental. There will be a mix between Quest/Standard Rental (Long term leases) and Owner occupiers within the building.

Really starting to take shape, Im off to go there right now.....
