Even though it was cool to see football being played in a stadium like this, seen strictly from the point of view of the game, it was not so good due to the dimensions of the pitch. It was way to narrow.

Yes it was a narrow pitch and the sod covering the infield wasn't the best. However the ability to take the elevated 7 to football = awesomeness.

I like it. Ballparks are supposed to be quirky.

Quirky because the stadiums were built inside the narrow confines of a city block. Not quirky for the sake of being quirky.

It should play "more neutral" now. It will still be one of the largest outfields in the league, but will help normalize play. This will help the Mets, seeing as they play half their games here. Lord knows they need all the help they can get.

Also, they're able to add some more of their most popular seats to the stadium. Win-win.

The outfield has been a complete mess from the beginning. I'm glad they're finally doing something about it. IMO they should just tear out everything from centerfield to the right field line and start over.

Since that is rarely a problem these days, if it wasn't done intentionally all teams would be playing with 3 River/Riverfront/Busch 1/Fulton County/RFK/Qualcomm outfields. YAWN!

Many new parks don't have unnecessarily quirky outfields, you know.

In fact, Busch III is virtually symmetrical.

Good changes IMO. Those new seats in LF and RF will be popular.

Hey there, New Yorkers. I don't mean to split hairs here.

But which of the following is the correct address for Citi Field?

126th St. & Roosevelt Ave.
Queens, New York 11368

126th St. & Roosevelt Ave.
Flushing, New York 11368

126th St. & Roosevelt Ave.
New York, New York 11368

It seems puzzling to me, because New York City is divided into boroughs, which are in turn divided into neighborhoods.:?

Hope you Tri-State residents could clear this up for this Texas resident.:okay:

The official address is Flushing. But as long as you have the zip code right it really doesn't matter much.

Just like if you addressed a letter to Hollywood, CA, or Los Angeles, CA, or West L.A., CA--it doesn't really matter. The zip code is the key, not the "city".

Does that also apply to the new Barclays Center? I mean, it's all New York City, but people keep emphasizing the borough of Brooklyn.

The official address will say Brooklyn, NY, but if you mailed something there and just put New York, NY it would get there just the same, as long as the zip code is correct.
