Looks good. Not too big, not too small.

A little bit lowrise for a city approaching 300,000 itself. Not much of a metro population though. Nice looking enough.

Actually, the Wichita Metro Area has around 750,000 people or so.

My hometown of 60,000 people has a better skyline, but Wichita looks nice!

I've only been to Wichita once, but I thought downtown looked pretty cool from what I saw. I also agree, not too big, but not too small.

The skyline is disappointing but could be worse. It needs infill bad but I will say that Old Town was pretty nice and had lofts, shopping and cool places to eat so I definitely stop there everytime I'm up there.

What hometown is that? Just so I can search out the skyline.

Oklahoma City is nearby. Its not a huge city, but its over a million in the region and its growing pretty quick.

The Wichita metro area has around 750,000+ people in it! No need to go anywhere else!

Wichita doesn't look that bad. But I like downtowns with a lot of historic buildings. Judging by the pictures posted in this thread there doesn't seem to be that many.

^^yeah OKC is about at 1.3 million/people metro now-there are things to do like diff theme parks,NBA B-ball,Museums,Bricktown,OU fb to the South in Norman! but Wichita is growing also and the Intrust Arena is open or about to open and they will get some big concerts pretty soon!I have 2 routes in WHC,so I'm there about 4 time's a month! only complain I have about Whc is the Damn 2 lane freeways in the middle of the city, somtimes three lanes! too large of a city to have such a crappy freeway sys!

It's hard to account for Wichita's lack of anything interesting or vital in its urban core. One guess is that they went Hawg wild on urban renewal in the 1960s and replaced an aging but lovely downtown with a bunch of bland high rises and parking lots.

Just to be accurate, according to the US census in 2008, Wichita is the 84th largest US metro, with 603,700 people, not "750,000+." It is slightly larger than Boise, and slightly smaller than Colorado Springs. It's also larger than Madison, Wisconsin.

I was in Wichita earlier this year but didn't have time to hang out much so I can't comment on the quality of life or anything. The skyline was larger than I expected and I did want to explore the city more than I was able to!
