I don't like it that much. The stands (especialy the uper tier) are all broken up. It's not realy flowing..if you know what I mean. I like it when the arena realy looks like an arena. Sorry... :ohno:

Well you can't just assume that it is the fault of some structural engineer...:ohno: There are other areas that could be at fault such as the contractor or fabricator. Such in this case I believe there was mentioning that the cracking could be due to the transportation/handling of the structure by the general contractor.

Capacity isn't correct. It's 11.000 + 4.000. This arena suppose to be already opened but because of those problems with roof, there will be one year delay...And here you go lastest photos...

One of the best sports arenas in Poland. Why is the capacity so small for this stadium and is the name Gdansk/Sopot Arena final? Also when is the official opening of it?

They had some problems with the roof, so official opening is still unknown.

I don't know about Prokom, but Gdansk, Gdynia, and Sopot are three separate cities (all basically attached) of varying sizes. Together, they form an urban agglomeration known as the Tri-City (trojmiasto). I believe that is correct, anyway.

As far as I know, Prokom won't move, but they will use the Arena for Euroleague matches. Capacity this big is not needed for Polish league.

Gdansk, Gdynia and Sopot are three separate cities. Gdańsk is the biggest and the oldest (its history goes back to medieval times) of the three. Gdynia is a new city, built in 1920's as the biggest port for Poland (Gdańsk wasn't Polish at that time). Sopot is a town between them. They grew so close together that they now form a single urban area.

I see it's already being used for volleyball, does anyone know if it's suppoed to be used for the Volleyball EURO 2013 if Poland/Denmark gets it? I haven't been able to find any information regarding the joint bid, would be great to see the "bid book". It will be decided on october 23rd who gets it.

There are 3 arenas with cap. over 10k and the Gdańsk/Sopot is one of them. It will surely be used as it's currently the best arena for volleyball together with Spodek in Katowice.

btw. how many objects do we have to use? 3+3, 2+2?

^^ No idea, the Danish federation haven't published anything. I just found the officiel press realease from when the bid was announced, it's does mention this new arena in Gdansk and the "national stadium" in Copenhagen (Parken?) for the finals. To me it's really strange that the semi's and the final are to be played in Denmark, since volleyball is a very small sport here.

Maybe that's the main reason why they want to make semi-final's and the final in Denmark, It could get way more popular thanks to this.

And don't forget obout Atlas Arena in Łódź, which is also brand new and of over 10.000 capacity.

^^ These are all much better seats than in this arena... And it doesnt matter these are VIP seats cause seats in this arena seams big too...

Why this arena is not being used for basketball matches? I thought Ergo arena will be used for Asecco Prokom home Euroleague matches, couse as far as I know club is still using their old basketball hall, which doesnt really meet Euroleague requirements.

Two years ago Prokom moved from Sopot to Gdynia and Prokom plays in new hall in Gdynia (cap. 5000) In this hall plays Trefl Sopot.
