Has anyone any examples of neo gothic churches in Eastern Canada? Pictures would be fantastic. Thanks.

I'm not too good with architectural terminology, but maybe St. Mary's basilica?

There are pictures of it in the "Any photos for halifax in this forum ?" thread.

There's a few in the North End in the Novalea/Gottingen area, I can't think of the names or exactly what they look like

Oh yes. St Mary's looks like a splendid example. Who is the architect? Is in Halifax?

St. Mary's is right in downtown Halifax, at the end of Spring Garden Road. I don't know who the architect was, but you could probably find it with Google - here's the church's website:

It is very nice. There are a lot of larger and taller churches but not not many of them are made out of granite, which is much more labour-intensive (and much tougher than) brick or sandstone.

There's also St. Matthew's nearby on Barrington Street. Here's another on Brunswick. I don't know its name and this picture is not very flattering but it is fairly large and attractive (at least at the front end):

Anglican Cathedral; Gothic Revival (1850), St.John's, is one of many examples in Newfoundland. The design, by British architect Sir Gilbert Scott also included a 150 ft spire which was not built.

From NL heritage website:
"The cathedral remains incomplete as the structure still lacks the spire which its designer, Scott, had envisaged. Although an engineering team has established that the proposed 150-foot tower and steeple is structurally feasible, the cost was estimated to be a prohibitive $3,000,000. The money in a decades-old fund established to complete the spire is still well short of the required amount. The clergy and parishioners remain committed to completing Scott's plans and are hopeful that they will see the spire erected."
