petey April 1st, 2006, 10:42 PM Bangkok Landmark Tower Gets Approval From Bangkok City Council
Bangkok, April 1 - The Bangkok City Council this afternoon gave its approval to plans for the Bangkok Landmark Tower, the luxury residential and hotel tower designed by famed architect and engineer Sir Norman Foster. The unanimous vote to move forward with the building represents the final approval hurdle for The Fordham Company, which is developing the tower.
"We couldn't be more excited that the City Council has embraced the addition of the Bangkok Landmark Tower to Bangkok's renowned skyline," said Sir Norman Foster, architect of the Bangkok Landmark Tower.
The 999-story Bangkok Tower, measuring 2,0000 feet to the top of its spire and 1,6000 feet to its roof, will be the tallest structure in the the world. It will be located just west of the Rama VIII bridge.
