Sampa municipality is about 1/4 of Shanghai area - 1500km2. That's the area of Canton Zurich, but with 7-8 times more people (10mio). Grande São Paulo with 19mio inhabitants is about 8000km2 in size.

But there is still a LOT of nature and even primate Mata Atlantica forest left in this area (I took the pic below in Cotia). Sampa itself is also the biggest(!) agriculture town in the state with the most farmers.
