I must admit the people at NET, seem to know what they are doing. They seem to have every angle covered from bus connections to marketing, I even like the fact they have conductors. It really is the system to be copied.

He is a Prick anyway. It’s taken him 2 Years+ and still no decision on NET Phase Two. But the last time he visited, sometime in February?, he said he will make a decision on funding NET 'within months'

but that's for another topic.

Or Sheffield!!!

And @ Zim. Don't all the tram systems in the UK have conducters? The Supertram does, and I just assumed that it was normal.

Metrolink
December 12th, 2006, 10:03 PM
Metrolink doesn't have conductors - far too busy for them too fit on and check tickets 90% of the day so random inspections by about a dozen or so inspectors every so often is a deterent to travelling without a ticket.
They claim to have the lowest non-fare paying system in the UK at 3%.

......All tickets must be purchased prior to boarding a Metrolink vehicle and retained until you leave the station at your final destination........

Ah, I hadn't realised that. I've only ever seen them in just the green.

(Do you have whole trams covered in an advertisment too though?)

The fronts are never covered though which still leaves some green. i don't know why.

Like you say Metrolink, the Metro is so busy it may well not be always practical to have conductors on the trams in Manchester but from a customer safety perspective and a tourist one (when I was last in Sheffield I asked the conductor which was the best stop for a venue I was going to), I would sooner have conductors on a system where ever possible.

That's quite neat on the NET. It looks a bit dodgy with the front still green.

Here's another off flickr, but I think the Meadowhall and Thompson fly are the main ones.

And here's the new livery that all the trams aree getting refurbished too (thanks to skyfitsboy).

Does anyone have any pics for the Metrolink or Birmingham trams etc?
