that's a stunning tower, but looking at the current situation, don't expect this to go up anytime soon, if soo, it'll take ages to build just like that milad tower.

This tower is nice, but i don't see anything that big fit into Vanak.
How many floors is that thing anyway? it looks like atleast 60...

what site did you get that off of?

It's not from a website. A forumer saw the proposal at an international exhibition and conference on new real estate developments.

I dont like it its to much copy-the-arab-style it hassent any thing persian going on for it

Gilgamesh
October 10th, 2005, 06:29 PM
^^ How do you think that's arabic style, and how should a "persian-skyscraper" be designed? :)

prsn41ife
October 10th, 2005, 06:31 PM
it looks more american to me

prsn41ife
October 10th, 2005, 06:32 PM
actually, it doesnt look like anything, it looks original. its nice

shayan
October 10th, 2005, 08:53 PM
well something more renesance or something more curved (not on a takkie way ofcours like in the milad tower)

shayan
October 10th, 2005, 08:58 PM
i doesnt fit in the ambiance it soulf be much more concervative if you would ask me

Gilgamesh
October 10th, 2005, 09:21 PM

I really like the design though.

Shayan_m
October 10th, 2005, 09:30 PM
It would be gorgeous to see such tower in Vanak !!! Doesn't matter if it looks arab , chinese or african !

prsn41ife
October 10th, 2005, 09:33 PM
it doesnt look like any other building! it looks really original and nice and tehran really needs a glass building like that.

shayan
October 10th, 2005, 10:57 PM
i agree on the point tehran needs a glass building but i think that the architects could do much beter. But i'm kinda confinced by your arguments. (still i hate the motive) lose the motive on the building and it would be very cool

shayan
October 10th, 2005, 10:58 PM
(it does have some simelarities to the burj al arab) if you would ask me

prsn41ife
October 11th, 2005, 12:09 AM
how, burj al arab is a curve and it has these metal curving things on the edges and its not all glass? in what way does it look like borj al arab?

Shayan_m
October 11th, 2005, 12:22 AM
He probably means the shape of the building !

prsn41ife
October 11th, 2005, 12:25 AM
the shape isnt even the same
so what you guys are saying that whenever anyone builds another skyscraper with a curve or an angle that its a copy of burj al arab? that doesnt make any sense at all...

shayan
October 11th, 2005, 05:47 PM
no ok but it has some similarities i said i just said that they sould cancel this project and put those miljoens in some nice project (mabye some social housing ore some new freeways) Ow i just wanted to know can someone tell me whats going on in iran in its infrasturture sector. I mean like road development canels dams telecommunication train development mono rail shiraz tabriz esfahan mashad metro (arent they going to build a bridge from geshm to the mainland? i thought i heard that somewhere)

The program envisaged for this project is to create a landmark multi-function City Center on an empty 18,000 m2 plot right across from Vanak Square. With a relative dormant building trend in Tehran, the city is ready to embrace a unique Multi-purpose complex, and for it to become the premiere destination
for work, hospitality, shopping and entertainment. The programmatic functions are broken into the following categories:

Retail / Entertainment Mall:
A shopping center that encompasses all types of retail shops such as clothing, accessories, electronics, house ware products etc., along with
bookstores and, discovery zones. Entertainment is found in cinemas, activity zones and children’s attractions and video arcades. These are all intermixed with cafes, restaurants and a centrally located food court.

Roof Gardens:
Utilizing the roof of the shopping mall as outdoor entertainment, a roof garden is created with restaurants and outdoor seating and eating possibilities
set amongst cascading waters and lush greenery. The vistas created in this serene setting overlooks the majestic mountain ranges to the North and to the beautiful snow peaked Mount Damavand.

Conference Center:
In order to fulfill its civic duties, this project will encompass conference center facilities, making it a full service destination and an ideal place to hold conferences, meetings and receptions. It will include meeting/seminar rooms,
a conference hall/ auditorium, and multiple ballrooms that can be opened up for larger functions.

Class A Offices:
Flexible layouts for functional office spaces will be provided and will be serviced with the latest technologies in terms of electrical and data connectivity to ensure that it will compete with the best of office spaces in the world. A Business Club augments the distinctiveness of this space and offers unparalleled service to the discerning businessman.

5 Star Hotel:
A 300 key hotel offering a complete range of services accompanied by a rich variety of restaurants and cafes will provide the ultimate in hospitality services. The uppermost floors of the hotel will be dedicated to a health club and a pool deck, allowing for fantastic views to the city to the South and the mountains to the North.

Mosque:
An architecturally distinct mosque with a capacity for 500 worshippers located uniquely on the site will serve the users of the Vanak City Center and its immediate neighbors.

Basement Parking:
Four levels of basement parking will be provided to accommodate the parking needs of the office workers, shoppers and the hotel visitors and staff. The envisaged built up area above ground is about 116,000 m2 and the total built-up including the 4 levels of basement average 188,000 m2.

Owner:Modabber Holding Company

Client: Kayson Construction Company

Estimated Cost:$ 163 Million

Niether the construction company or the design company mentioned in Skoulikimou's post have any info on the project...

Take a look http://www.kayson-ir.com/kayprojweb.htm
http://www.keoic.com/index.html

I think it's safe to say it might be canceled.

February 11th, 2008, 01:59 PM
^None, for all we know it was just a pipe dream but apparently all the signs advertising the sight are still there in Vanak... so perhaps it still has not been approved.. Such a tall building probably has some opposition to it in that area

Welcome to the forum btw :)

thanks, i hope it is contructed as it will give the area a big boost and maybe lead to more of these kinds of towers in the area. i think tehran has been waiting to long for these sorts of buildings which it really deserves!

I came across this on the front page of today's Tehran Times. Is it the same project? The developer seems different. Does anyone know any additional info?

I was in the area last month and still no movement. What was the site before? I wish they would just do a nice park area, but hey, they would probably stick another park burning Co2 into the sky like down the road.

^ i wouldnt mind a park, and isntead, make a building that covers the ugly blank side of the other building with the blue wall facing the square,so the facade of the new building hugs the square

Well I still think it should be a green space, Tehran sure could do with many more instead of more construction on virgin land.
