lebih kurang 1km ke simpang traffic light jln beserah/teluk chempedak/jabatan ukur pahang....
projek tgh berjalan... banglo 3 dan 4 tingkat tu... area lereng bukit tu... very nice view...

Tanah jerlus is not a major issue to build strong buildings. They could use strong concreate foundation similar like Burj Dubai and PETRONAS Twin Towers.

All those excuses brought up are basically an organizational politics plaything to sustain their ego eliminating the actual facts that MPK does not have enough APPROVED budget for the parking space.

Or maybe the allocation is more important to be channeled to other projects...

nak menyewa kat tembeling resort ke?...

aku pegi holiday sana ari tu... tobat dah taknak pegi dah..

itulah yg first dan last aku pegi..

tak berbaloi langsung..

layanan dari kakitangan resort (especially pak guard) paling teruk pernah aku jumpa.. tak friendly langsung..

undang2 yg tak munasabah.. ada ke 2 orang je dibenarkan mandi dlm swimming pool utk setiap unit apartment..

ari tu aku gi dua family... dalam 10 orang termasuk budak2.. sewa satu apartment 3 bilik...

dia bagi 2 orang je main swimming pool... selebihnya dihalau macam anjing kurap oleh pak guard dengan penuh kurang ajar...

sampai budak2 pun dia bleh halau...

padahal dlm swimming pool tu kosong sunyi sepi dan lengang selengang2nya..

masalah monyet liar toksah cakap la.. nak bukak tingkap pun tak berani...

nasihat aku.. pikir 100 kali la sebelum ke sana

Any news on Jusco possibly opening a branch in Kuantan?

About the car park allocations, Sydney City Council for example do not allocate many public car parks for the city because they would like to reduce the number of cars (noise/air pollution) travelling into the city. By making the car parks scarce and parking rates higher, people will prefer public transports instead. However; and this is a big however, such a move is reasonable because the public transport is efficient.

Workers/shoppers/tourists travelling to Kuantan rely on private transportation. Perhaps it is time for the municipal council to emulate developed cities where parking lots are time limited -a shopper can only park a maximum of 2-3 hours. This would allow other shoppers to have a chance to park. As for workers...well, that is a big issue.

KB sendiri sudah boleh menarik ramai pelancung dengan keunikan budaya dan sejarah sendiri, tanpa pantai. Tapi Kuantan hanya ada pantai, tiada sejarah dan budaya yang ada, sebab Kuantan adalah bandar baru.:)

Kuala Lipis dulu ibu negeri. Kuantan mula membangun selepas di isytihar sebagai ibu negeri pada tahun 1955. Sebelum tu pekan kecik je. Orang tua2 cakap Sg. Lembing lagi maju dari Kuantan mase dulu.:)

Property market still bustling in Kuantan

KUANTAN: The controversial rare earth plant being developed at the Gebeng industrial area near here has not affected the property market.

Buying and selling of properties remained at their normal pace, said industry players, refuting rumours that prices had dipped because of the rare earth dispute.

WTW Real Estate Sdn Bhd assistant manager (transactional services) Lok Siew Mei said there were still active property transactions in Kuantan.

“These involved new as well as used properties,” she said.

While not disclosing the amount involved, Lok assured that the transactions had not dipped despite the controversies surrounding the Lynas Corp plant.

“Properties in Kuantan that are priced between RM350,000 and RM400,000 are still selling,” she said.

“Buyers have no qualms in making the purchase while the lending situation is still very much the same.

“Sales evidence still shows that there are transactions,” she added, saying she was aware of the fear involving the rare earth plant and that it was more due to sentiment.

Peniaga bukan Bumiputera kuasai premis segi tiga emas di Kuantan

KUANTAN: Usahawan Melayu di negeri ini masih berdepan masalah pemilikan premis perniagaan di lokasi strategik berikutan kebanyakan premis berkenaan sudah dimiliki golongan bukan Bumiputera.
Jumlah modal terhad usahawan Melayu untuk membeli premis perniagaan yang disifatkan berada di lokasi 'segi tiga emas' di bandar ini, menyebabkan pemilikan Bumiputera ketinggalan.
Walaupun terdapat segelintir usahawan Melayu di beberapa lokasi tumpuan utama pengunjung di negeri ini, mereka hanya sekadar menyewa.

Pengusaha restoran di Jalan Tun Ismail, dekat sini, Wan Norshila Wan Ali, 32, berkata masalah itu perlu diberi perhatian pihak terbabit dengan membela nasib usahawan Melayu terutama persatuan peniaga dan dewan perniagaan.

"Pihak yang ingin memperjuangkan nasib usahawan Melayu, tidak boleh sekadar memberi fokus kepada usaha bantuan modal kewangan atau bantuan mendapatkan projek saja.

"Sebaliknya, mereka juga perlu berusaha meningkatkan tahap pemilikan premis perniagaan di lokasi utama yang kebanyakannya tidak mampu untuk dimiliki oleh usahawan Melayu kerana harga yang mahal serta sudah habis ditempah walaupun pembinaan belum bermula," katanya.
Wan Norshila berkata, usahawan Bumiputera yang menyewa premis di lokasi 'segi tiga emas' juga sering diberi tekanan dengan kadar kenaikan sewa yang melampau serta tiada langsung tolak ansur dalam menjelaskan tunggakan sewa bulanan.

Beliau membangkitkan isu itu pada program Seminar Jihad Perniagaan Dewan Perdagangan Islam Malaysia (DPIM) di Hotel Vistana, dekat sini, yang dirasmikan Timbalan Presiden DPIM, Tan Sri Muhammad Ali Hashim.

Sementara itu, Muhammad Ali berkata isu itu mampu ditangani jika syarikat berkaitan kerajaan (GLC) dapat memainkan peranan membela nasib usahawan Melayu.

"Bantuan yang boleh diberikan GLC berkenaan tidak semestinya dalam bentuk modal kewangan, sebaliknya ia boleh dilaksanakan melalui kerjasama perniagaan.

"GLC perlu membuka peluang kepada usahawan Melayu untuk berniaga bersama khususnya dalam projek perniagaan yang berskala besar supaya usahawan dapat mengembangkan rangkaian perniagaan,” katanya.

Melayu Kelantan pun lama kelamaan akan menerima nasib sama seperti negeri-negeri lain jika tiada usaha meningkat kompetensi usahawan-usahawan Melayu, semua pasar raya besar milik bukan Melayu, Billion, Pantai Timur, KB Mall, Pacific, Bilal, Mydin (India Muslim), apatah lagi Tesco (milik org putih Britain). Termasuk juga kontraktor2 yg terbabit dalam pembinaan. Cuma masih ramai peniaga2 kecil, restoran, dsb milik orang Melayu, jadi kalau pelawat dari negeri-negeri lain datang ke Kelantan akan nampak wajah2 Melayu Kelantan sebagai peniaga bukannya bangsa asing Indonesia, Bangladesh dsb. Sifat semulajadi orang Kelantan dah mcm tu, campak saja ke mana..akan berusaha bersungguh sbb sudah biasa susah dan satu lagi sifat orang Kelantan tak prejudis pada bangsa-bangsa lain, jadi org Cina, Siam, Kemboja, India, Pakistan dan orang Asli di Kelantan dianggap macam 'ore Kelate' juga dan bukan 'ore luar', mmg harmoni, 1Kelantan 1Malaysia. Menurut Pegawai Operasi Sentoria Themeparks and Resorts, Suriyati Hashim (gambar), pihaknya kini giat menjalankan promosi selepas pengambilalihan perkhidmatan itu daripada MPK pada 15 Julai lalu bagi menaik taraf operasinya.

Beliau berkata, Kuantan River Cruise beroperasi setiap hari dan pengunjung yang mengunjungi Taman Esplanade di sini boleh menaiki bot untuk menikmati keindahan pesisiran Sungai Kuantan.

“Pengunjung dapat menikmati panorama bandar Kuantan, melihat perkampungan tradisional nelayan dan mengetahui sedikit-sebanyak sejarah Sungai Kuantan melalui pemandu pelancong kami,” katanya kepada Utusan Malaysia ketika ditemui di sini, baru-baru ini.

Suriyati memberitahu, bagi perjalanan tersebut, penumpang akan mula menaiki bot dari Jeti Shahbandar yang terletak bersebelahan Ibu Pejabat MPK dan terus dibawa ke muara Sungai Kuantan sebelum berpatah balik.

Katanya, di kiri dan kanan sungai, penumpang disajikan dengan pemandangan menarik perkampungan nelayan selain bot-bot perikanan yang berlabuh di sepanjang sungai berkenaan.

Selain itu, jelasnya, penumpang akan dibawa mengelilingi Taman Bakau bagi melihat keunikan hutan paya bakau yang masih terpelihara tanpa perlu memijak permukaan berlumpur kerana terdapat laluan jalan kaki kayu disediakan di kawasan itu.

“Di situ, pengunjung akan singgah sebentar selama 10 minit untuk menikmati keindahan flora dan faunanya selain merakamkan kenangan manis,” katanya.

Menurut beliau, pihaknya merancang menambah beberapa lagi aktiviti untuk dipenuhi di sepanjang perjalanan menaiki ‘Kuantan River Cruise’ tersebut seperti melihat kunang-kunang di Sungai Belat dan Sungai Soi.

“Mungkin selepas ini pengunjung dapat turun seketika semasa singgah di Hutan Simpan Paya Bakau bagi menikmati keindahan hutannya yang semula jadi,” ujarnya.

Suriyati memberitahu, kadar tambang yang dikenakan juga sangat berpatutan iaitu hanya RM18 bagi dewasa dan RM15 untuk kanak-kanak bagi satu pusingan yang mengambil masa kira-kira 40 hingga 45 minit.

Tidak cukup dengan itu, tambahnya, pihaknya turut menawarkan potongan harga sebanyak 10 peratus untuk enam tiket masuk ke Taman Tema Air Bukit Gambang bagi setiap tiket Kuantan River Cruise.

Kuantan River Cruise beroperasi pada setiap Isnin, Selasa dan Khamis bermula pukul 2.30 petang, 4 petang, 6.30 petang dan berakhir pukul 8 malam.

Pada hari Jumaat pula, perkhidmatannya bermula pukul 11.30 pagi, 2.30 petang, 4 petang dan 6.30 petang manakala untuk sesi malam pula bermula pada pukul 8 dan 9 malam.

Perkhidmatan Kuantan River Cruise ditutup pada setiap hari Rabu kecuali cuti sekolah dan cuti umum.

A Lot In Store For Kuantan River Cruise Passengers

KUANTAN, Aug 13 (Bernama) -- The operator of Sungai Kuantan cruise has constantly strived to make it more interesting and enhancing to passengers since taking over its operation from the Kuantan Municipal Council (MPK) on July 15.

The 45-minute cruise starts at the Shahbandar jetty opposite the MPK headquarters and heads for the mouth of Sungai Kuantan before turning back, said Kuantan River Cruise operation officer Suriyati Hashim.

The cruise takes visitors along Sungai Kuantan to enjoy panoramic views of Kuantan and a traditional fishing village and learn the history of the state capital from the tour guide, she told Bernama.

She said passengers would also be taken around a mangrove park where they could traverse a mangrove swamp forest on a plank walk for 10 minutes.

The river cruise service is closed on Wednesday except on school holidays and public holidays and the fare is RM18 for adults and RM15 for children.

Japan’s Kaneka to expand plant in Gebeng
KUANTAN: Japan’s Kaneka Corp will expand its plant in Gebeng industrial estate here to strengthen its position in Malaysia.

The plant, operated under Kaneka Innovative Fibers Sdn Bhd, is one of the world’s main material suppliers for hair products.
Kaneka Innovative has invested RM41.5 million to manufacture synthetic fibreers for hair products called “Futura” since May this year and will invest another RM35.2 million by the year-end.

Its managing director Ryuichi Takagi said the new investment was made due to various reasons including Malaysia’s economic strength and supportive policies, attractive tax incentives, political stability and skilled workforce.

He said the company’s synthetic fibres were made from flame-retardant polyester and used in various hair products such as wigs, weavings, braids and other hair accessories.

“The manufacturing process includes spinning that makes the hair tangle-free and suitable for combing.

“It also creates a sense of touch similar to natural human and animal hair,” he told reporters after the opening of the extended plant by International Trade and Industry Deputy Minister Datuk Jacob Dungau Sagan last week.

Takagi said the finished products received good response in the United States as an alternative to similar products made from real human hair.

He said the expansion of Kaneka Innovative Fibers’ plant started in November last year and was completed in April this year.

“We will hire about new 30 staff when the plant becomes fully operational by year end,” he said, adding that Kaneka had spent about RM183 million on various reinvestment programmes in Malaysia between 1998 and 2009.

“We are also looking into the possibility of setting up other businesses in Malaysia especially at the current manufacturing site in Gebeng,” he added.

Jacob expressed his confidence that Kaneka Innovative Fibers would help improve Malaysia’s export of synthetic fibres fibers for hair products, which stood only at RM340,000 last year and RM71,000 in the previous year.

Apart from Kaneka Innovative Fibers, Kaneka also owns Kaneka (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, Kaneka Electec Sdn Bhd, Kaneka Eperan Sdn Bhd and Kaneka Paste Polymere Sdn Bhd in Gebeng.

KUANTAN: Gambang is set to be the centre of high tech industries with Malaysian Solar Resource Sdn Bhd (MSR)’s facility that produces solar photovoltaic (PV) modules used to make solar panels.

The move is also foreseen to be the main technology park in the eastern corridor.

In view of this, Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Datuk Seri Peter Chin had urged other companies to set up businesses and operations in the place and venture into the high tech industries such as MSR.

“It will help boost the economy, be it the state or country, and create job opportunities.

“The ministry is satisfied to see Gambang developing and moving in the right direction,” he said after visiting MSR’s facility here recently.

Chin added that the ministry is determined to see the development of renewable energy in the country to take off in the right step.

He said the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (Seda) had already been formed to manage and regulate activities and development in the area.

“A conducive setting is essential to promote a new industry so companies can steadily build their businesses.

“Efforts taken by MSR to venture in the industry must be praised and emulated by others.

“Renewable energy is still new but it is critical for the country and those dealing in green technology.”

Chin said that some 80% of the 70 workers in MSR are locals and this was equally important too as the country needed skilled workers in this area.

The government, he added, strongly encouraged such development in a new industry as it would further improve growth in green technology.

“It will play a significant role in giving a good boost to the economy and build a pool of skilled workers.”

Also present at the minister’s visit was MSR managing director Ong Ah Hwa.

He that MSR is a fully-owned Malaysian company and its current production capacity was 25mw and would be increased to 70mw by the fourth quarter of the year.

“Most of the products are exported as the demand is higher but the company expects to cater to at least 50% of the local market by year end after the FiT (feed-in-tariff) for the development of renewable energy becomes effective in December.

“Government projects made up the main bulk of the local market but demands from the private sector is expected to increase beginning next year,” he added.

Ong said the present investment is RM80mil, but the company had plans to expand production to accumulate capacity between 50MW and 70MW.

The expansion project would involve an aditional RM80mil and to commence in November and this would be able to meet demands of local and foreign markets.

Contohnye, Jalan Beserah, kenderaan semakin banyak, kiri kanan mana ade ruang nak besarkan jalan menjadi 3 lorong satu hala. Same gak dengan Jalan Tun Ismail dan Jalan Wong Ah Jang. Aku rase maybe bentuk je yang hampir serupa dengan Times Square tuh.:lol:

Pada pendapat aku, Times Square, Pavilion etc2 adalah sekadar nama. Yang penting konsep dan target market untuk mall tersebut. Sebagai contoh Pavilion KL dan The Gardens. Konsep die high end mall, target market untuk penduduk yang high income. So nampak lah grand. Kalau die taruk name lain pun akan nampak grand, sebab konsep die.

Kalau taruk nama Times Square or Pavilion sekali pun tapi target market untuk penduduk middle to low income, so tenant mix die maybe jadi lebih kurang Kuantan Parade je lah. Just my to cent. :)

Another foreign investment in Kuantan

Wenzhou to set up industrial park in Kuantan

China-based Wenzhou Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau will invest RM900 million to establish an integrated industrial park comprising logistics and warehousing facilities in the East Coast Economic Region (ECER)'s Special Zone in Kuantan, Pahang.
Through the investment, Wenzhou will have its first trading complex in the ECER, which will be located in the integrated industrial park to boost bilateral trade.
Construction of the integrated industrial park is scheduled to take off June next year and be completed in 18 months thereafter.
Wenzhou Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau and the East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC) today exchanged documents to formalise the planned investment in the special zone witnessed by International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed.
Mustapa said both parties would also collaborate to identify new areas of economic collaboration and stimulate investments.
"I hope this investment will prompt other companies from China to invest in Kuantan and other parts of the East Coast," he said after witnessing the exchange of documents between the two parties in Sri Kembangan today.
The event was part of the two-day Malaysia-China Trade and Investment International Conference 2011 which started today.
Launched by Mustapa, the conference was attended by more than 1,000 delegates from China, Dubai, Sri Lanka, Iran and Japan. More than 400 delegates are from China. Mustapa advised Chinese companies keen to undertake projects in Malaysia to use the services of the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA) and the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).
Mustapa, who is scheduled to meet his Chinese counterpart next month, said he would discuss the planned 55 sq kilometer industrial park to be constructed in Wenzhou as a joint-venture project between Malaysian and Chinese companies.
"The first phase of the project is expected to be completed in 2015. The proposal for the project has not been submitted," he added.
Wenzhou, dubbed the "light industry capital of China", produces 60 per cent of China's shoes and has a strong presence in apparel manufacturing.
It is also a major manufacturing centre for electrical appliances, electronic items and light machinery.
Wenzhou has established commercial centers in Brazil, Holland, United Arab Emirates, the United States and Germany.
In Malaysia, its trade centre is located in Ipoh, Perak, while its trade centre in Senai, Johor, is currently under construction.
Earlier, at the launch of the conference, Mustapa said that MITI, which has been focusing on Beijing and Shanghai, was expanding its range of business contacts in China to provinces such as Wenzhou, Yunnan and Guangxi.
"We will also work with the Hainanese, Hakka, Teochew, Fuchow and Guangxi clan associations to help us connect with their counterparts in China," he added. -- Bernama

New private hospital in Kuantan opens Monday

KUANTAN (Sept 10, 2011): Pahang's latest private medical centre, the RM65-million Darul Makmur Medical Centre (DMMC) in Taman Kempadang Makmur here will start operations on Monday.

There are two other major private hospitals already operating in Pahang – both in Kuantan town.

DMMC Sdn Bhd director Datuk Dr Ahmad Shukri Ismail said the two-storey 123-bed medical centre was based on the health tourism concept.

"Currently, the centre has 70 personnel and 21 specialists in various fields," he told reporters after the opening of the hospital by Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob today.

He said the company would also start building a six-storey 150-bed medical centre costing RM70 million in Felda Jengka 8, Maran in October an that it would come onstream in two years. – Bernama
