Situated in the Solidere area at the heart of Beirut, the Marina Towers project was designed by the renowned firm of architects Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates. Built on 7,000 sqm of land, the main Tower reaches a staggering height of 155 meters.

Marina Towers is the biggest and most prestigious residential project on the Mediterreanean Sea. It consists of 3 distinct elements: Marina Tower (all sold out), Marina Garden, and Marina Court.

Linked to the Beirut Western Marina through a private tunnel, residents of Marina Towers will have private access to the marina's mooring facilities and leisure activities.

Is this now the tallest building in Beirut?

Very nice design.

I dont think its the tallest building, theres the Al Murr tower but that one is in ruins (damaged from the civil war). However there is a plan to renovate the building with the Beirut World Trade Center

Nice, that building will sure upgrade Beirut's skyline, it's beautiful.

Hi, I believe the next tread should be about the project of the Marina park and the whole landfill project that is being built next to the Marina Towers. Or may be about the Nara Towers.

The tower is impressive, with the spire on it it will look neat and beautiful. Now this area is going to be luxurious now that the Platinum tower, the Beirut tower which you see in the foreground, and the four season hotel will rise! I can't wait for the Platinum tower, it's a box but yet it feels unique for some reason, it looks pretty impressive to me.

It was never built in the first place I believe. I think you're talking about the Nara and Marina towers.

No, the Nara Towers and Marina was a completely independent project that was canceled a few years ago. It would have been 48 floors, almost twice the number of floors as the Marina Tower (26 floors) making it the tallest building in Beirut.

They are very recent Lebanese Cedar, I wonder around the internet and found them (most of them). The last 2 I have posted a friend sent them to me, because he knows how much I love these towers. I'll ask him where he got them from. I have a question, do you have any idea when they will put the spire on the Marina towers? It will give it a neat look, I can't wait.

Thanks. I read that the Marina Tower and Marina Garden are supposed to be complete by this month, but it looks like they are just around to completing it so maybe it will be finished next month.

thats great, maybe the end of april or beggining of may, cuz it looks like they only thing they still have to do is the spire :)

Nara tower was supposed to be built by the late R. Hariri. NaRa stands for Nazik & Rafic...

I was looking forward for the Nara Marina towers it was soooo good i loved the desgin of it ... i once thought it was going to the the excention of st georhe hotel that was like 4 years ago when i was 15 i wish they were making it

but on the Negative side woodnt it have ruined the view of the intercontenal hotel

Marina Towers, a luxury high rise, forms an important part of the ambitious Solidere masterplan for the rebuilding of Beirut’s central waterfront district.
The design is a symbol of the confluence of the sea and land at this site where Beirut first began.The concave shape echoes the form of the harbor that the building overlooks.
The fluid form of the top, appearing to have been caught in the wind, creates a vibrant dynamic composition, a powerful gathering from the sea to the city.

The design optimizes views of the sea and harbour for all tenants. The orientation of the apartment tower is set on the radial axis of the harbour. The crescent shape of the apartment plan brings forward the corner living areas to provide dramatic panoramas.

The design uses an ingenious stacking of spaces such that the living areas, which are large and open, are 5 meters high, while the bedrooms, more compact in plan, are 3 metres high. For privacy and security, the elevator lifts lead to private vestibules with views directly to the sea.

The tower and its adjacent low-rise residential building frame a private garden which is raised above the street and is part of the tradition of lush gardens throughout Beirut. The courtyard is sheltered by a grove of shade trees and cooled by running fountains.

I dont know about renting but buying i would imagine is well over a million for the even numbered floors (they're bigger) and the others im SURE are up there! I wonder who bought the penthouse!?!?
hell an apartment on verdun in a building built in the 90's is in the 800-900 thousand range!!

I'm not sure right now what that building is, but it is not the Phoenicia hotel.

There were plans to renovate the Holiday Inn but there have been complications and the project has been halted indefinitely. I assume it will be demolished one day...

No, that one is not Phoenicia Intercontinental Hotel. It is Intercontinental Le Vendome hotel.

ahh that ugly war. .. i think it's okay to renovate the building, it's a simple building, .. maybe it's too heavy/big but i think it will be nice for visitors spending time in that hoteldistrict, .. one might feel luxurious surrounded by all the nice and different (big/small/..) hotels close to each other(?) :cheers:

^^ No, if you look at the renders on the first page you will see what the spire is supposed to look like.

So many of us have been concerned that the spire may not be added... but Nadini said she will go to the construction site soon and ask someone...

Question: Sorry if this sounds dumb, but does the placing of the spire require a crane? Because this tower no longer has a crane by it....

^^ If the spire won't be too much heavy, maybe they assemble it on the roof and place it.

noo there was an opening actually, I wasnt planning getting in, but I did lol and that's why I got a scream from the old guy hehe, well maybe its almost done (maybe they start finishing the rooms from top to bottom since penthouses demand more) I dont know how it works, but I know the building is nearly done and it is looking great! Especially when you are so close to it

Yes, I am Lebanese but unfortunately I have lived outside of Lebanon most of my life. I really want to try to go there this summer since it has been over 3 years since my last visit there...I really miss it.

Yeah, there are works going on the corniche. But as you may have noticed in the last two pics Nadini posted, in the first one the pavement is dug while in the second one, the dig is filled.

UPDATE: I saw two blinking lights at both ends of the roof of Marina Towers. The colour of the ligh was white. It is similar to the ones located near airport runways.

^^ none of those are from emaar, and the Al Murr Tower we still dont know the condition of it, its already built just they dont know if they will renovate it or demolish then build a new tower in its position.

Marina Tower, itself, is complete in terms of construction. However, there are interior works going. Always take into consideration that interior works take a lot of time.

Nadini, the render shown in the pic is Capital Plaza.

I just discovered something that caught my eye when I was going through my pictures and it was the one below. Doesn't it look like they created the base of the spire that might be added in the future?? Look closely, it looks like we might have a chance. Also what are those two things at the end on the crown, if u look in the second picture, they are placed at a different spot

I'm not sure. I mean you think they'll add a spire after installing all the glasses? Let us suppose a catastrophe happens and something goes wrong. The whole crown will have to be built again. But again, there is a small probability.

As for those two mysterious things, most probably they slide over the curvature of the crown to be used for cleaning the glasses.

Marina Court is the same as Marina Tower meaning lots of interior works.
As for Maria Garden, construction has reached either the ground or the first floor.

The spire would have really defined the MT as a very prominent tower along the waterfront, now it will be overshadowed by the PT and the surrounding yet-to-be-built towers.

So we must adjust the height then...do you have any figures Nareg?

nadini, u probably have the best pics here, but! i have to say, i havent seen anyone post a picture of this building at night, i was maybe one of the lucky few ones who captured it lit up at night...each floor is lit up, which distinctly seperates each floor and makes the building glow! vegas casino style! although its a shame they didnt use reflective mirror glass...still a stunning development!

lol good point...i guess it'll be off most of the time!! well the tokyo skyline is full of this^^ type of building...or rather the lights that outline the building... i just think beirut shud be more original..but i guess thats only one building so its not gonna make much of a difference.

yeah exactly, thats only on building doing this, but i dont think its such a bad idea to have a lit skyline, its very attractive and will look amazing from planes...ppl like technology, lights, modern and contemporary designs, but nevertheless beirut will retain its historic past and heritage, without a doubt...:)
