In the middle of my final exams..... I'm wasting time as usual.... I search... and search for some interesting sites.... and rarely do I find a site that is really as impressive and fun to visit as this forum. Namely, Saudi Dunes' thread about Khobar got me going, cheers mate.

I plan to become an active member of this forum... (that's not a promise :P)

For starters... I am going to add these pics... hopefully after exams I'll be around more often.... and by the way.. keep up the good work .. all of you...

Since I am from the EP... and I love my twin city Dhahran/Khobar... my first thread is going to be about it.

I was reading a newspaper (Asharq Alawsat) and came across this interesting development, called Doha Gardens. It won its architect, a Lebanese guy, an award in some British architecture thing. This lead me to more nice projects from the same Company Rikaz... (sounds like Emaar doesn't it)...

the problems here in saudi kindom if they aprroved new project it will start constructon after 3~10 year or more (that if it not cancel)

وقعت شركة ركاز للتنمية والتطوير عقود المرحلة النهائية لتطوير مشروع (سيتي فنار) بالدمام مع عدد من الشركات الوطنية المتخصصة بقيمة 122 مليون ريال أمس السبت.وتشمل هذه العقود الأعمال البحرية والحماية الصخرية وأعمال البنية التحتية والصرف الصحي على ان ينتهي انجاز كافة هذه الأعمال حتى شهر مارس 2006 بالاضافة الى عقد الاشراف الهندسي والاستشاري على مشروع سيتي فنار الذي يضم مرافق ترفيه سياحية متكاملة ويفتح آفاقا جديدة للتسوق والأنشطة التجارية والاستثمارية الحديثة وبلغت قيمة هذه العقود التي وقعها رئيس مجلس ادارة ركاز للتنمية والتطوير خالد بن حسن العبدالكريم القحطاني 122 مليون ريال توزعت على الشكل الآتي: الأعمال البحرية بمبلغ 19372610 ريالات وذلك ضمن العقد الأول شاملا انشاء واجهة بحرية بطول 4,2كم.بينما تبلغ قيمة العقدين الثاني والثالث 7736042 ريالا شاملة اعمال البنية التحتية وستقوم الجهتان المنفذتان بموجب هذا العقد بتنفيذ ما مجموعه 25,9كم من الطرق وشبكة المياه بطول 46,8كم بينما يبلغ طول شبكة تصريف مياه الامطار 13 كم وشبكة الهاتف الحديثة والمتكاملة بطول 71كم كما تقوم الجهات المنفذة ضمن هذا العقد بانشاء محطتي تغذية كهربائية وتنفيذ شبكة الانارة للشوارع الرئيسية والساحات بعدد 1013 عامودا وانشاء جسر بحري بطول 44م وعرض 34م اضافة لأعمال التجميل والتشجير وزراعة الشتلات بما مجموعه 4543 شجرة وشتلة و75000م2 من المسطحات الخضراء التي تتوزع في أرجاء سيتي فنار.بينما بلغت قيمة عقدي أعمال الصرف الصحي لسيتي فنار مبلغ 22567267 مليون ريال ستنفق على ما مجموعه 48 كم من شبكة الصرف الصحي مدعومة بثلاث محطات ضخ

City Fanar is still in the land reclamation process. The project is going but slowly..

RECLAIMATION? but i heard that the reclaimation is fully completed.......n they r about to start the PHASE 1.......
