The Esplanade for not showing sensitivity to its context and users.

Infineon bldg for be just plain butt ugly.

Nafa campus for being extremely boring (this is actually an art school for crying out loud).

My neighbour's house.

Hilton Hotel gets my vote.

For the more modern ones, I dislike very much One George Street, but I sort of got used to it (at least it's pedestrian-friendly).

Hello guyzz, lets focus on the real ugliest buildings. Something that everyone can agree one. Any suggestions anyone? :-)

What's the point?? Architecture is subjective. What fun would there be if everybody agrees??

i love esplanade! To me that represents modern singapore, it's perfect for the culture here. Durian fruit design, what's more perfect?!

The ugliest building has to be that building right behind HSBC. I hate that, looks like a 1960s car-park from Birmingham.

HSBC isn't that great either, they should have carried on the cladding that they did at the base and finished the entire building.

Quite a lot of buildings along Shenton way I don't like, but every two months I read that they're being redeveloped, like the office building that the owners of the sail are redoing into a new condo development.

My home, the Jade at Bukit Batok is ugly too, but nice inside :D

ymca building, near SMU campus is awful.

our High Commission (British one) is awful too.

Funan area, peninsula hotel etc, AWFUL.

And the greatest, most ugly thing ever to be constructed, the new supreme court!!!!!!!!!! .... I'm ashamed that a fellow countryman gave singapore this!

wait a minute ... it seems Britain has given singapore it's most beautiful buildings ... nearly every colonial building .... and its ugliest ones too!

HA ... unconscious revenge for your independence maybe .. J/K!

Don't be too quick to condemn him yet. I was told that it has come to a stage that he refuses to acknowledge his design. Couldn't blame him, who would acknowledge that?? I wouldn't.

Durian is an after thought. If it was part of the design concept, I'll shoot Michael Wilford myself.....

Ritz Carlton Hotel..... dont know why but i find the design plain boring....the artium level is alright, plenty of full height glass exposing itself, but the overall block itself....is !??!

@PJCCUK: oh, yes, that building behind HSBC really is an eyesore... It's called the Straits Trading Building. And Peninsula Hotel is another awful piece of crap, yup, in fact those two are quite worse than Hilton Hotel, that's a feat for sure ^ ^

^^ Hahaz. Anyway Singapore really should have some building that is really uniquely ours other than the two durians. Finally we have the Sail. Hope BFC will bring some interesting designs..

I have a feeling the Sail will look nothing like the renderings, lol.

I hope there can be more variation in the BFC design than to have it lik Suntec City, with 4 blocks of identical design and height.

Singapore definitely has some very unique buildings, especially the shophouses.

They are a residential development which can be seen from River Valley Road. Is the comment correct ? This is going to be redeveloped ?
