Has anyone here camped in Wu Kai Sha especially back in the days?

I remember back in the late 80s when our school would go to the camp at Wu Kai Sha. The first time I went there, there was no highway and we had to take the ferry near Shatin. The next trip, a highway is built and you can go there by just taking the bus.

Back then, Ma On Shan was there though it's still not that developed. But Wu Kai Sha still had that rural feel especially the nearby village.

Today, alot has changed in Wu Kai Sha. Ma On Shan became fully developed and the camp is surrounded by high-rise developments like the Villa Athena. Plus The KCR East Rail runs there with Wu Kai Sha as the last station.

I haven't been to this area for a long time but I'm wondering if the camp is still there? But with all that developments happening, I don't think the camp is that quiet or relaxed as it used to be.

I remember taking the ferry. Was there a lighthouse there? It's been so long.

oops my bad :D Anyway, I don't remember a lighthouse in that area. Anyway, again that place became so urbanized. I think it's better to camp in Po Leung Kuk in Sai Kung.
