Over the last few days I have seen banners of Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
So, I thought why don't we submit a banner for Doha to the admins?

What do you thing guys?

I say go for it. But we need a good picture of the skyline first.

I think the best one would be MillenniaL's picture of Doha's skyline in the future...

^^ We don't know Barwa tower's exact height. But it is a 100f tower while Dubai tower is 80f. So, it is supposed to be taller.

About a specific date... Unfortunately, Jan didn't give a specific date.

And about that thread. Don't worry guys, I sent Jan the banner before that thread was created, so probably nobody knew about the new size. So... I think our banner is on top of the list.

Actually amrja, I think that if we are going to make a new banner, we should be more "creative". I mean in 3 days inshallah, the banner will be up. So, I don't think we should send in another banner of the same place.

I think the new banner should be a picture of the Khalifa Stadium. I think that this will be the best...

Problem is that we had this banner before. It was the same idea. A photo of the West Bay from the corniche. It's an awesome photo, that's true. But, I think we all agree that we should be a bit creative you know...

I am now searching for a photo on the internet, I hope I can find a good one.
BTW, I am absolutely free now. So, if anyone finds a suitable photo, I can immediately edit it and send it to Jan.

Omar, that is wondeful. I know it takes a lot of work. If only I had Adobe Photoshop I would've done it myself. Anyway, under the text, can you write September 3rd, 1971 (the day itself).. Also, would it be too much trouble to incorporate the Sports City tower and the Khalifa stadium by cutting the pictures out and pasting them in the corner of the banner if you can. It will look good.

For the banner I think it looks really good! I actually prefer the skyline view from the Intercontinental rather than from downtown Doha.
Sorry I totally suck at photoshop and cannot come up with a proposal, but I'm working on gaining skills at it though! : )

@Halawala. I'm not sure if that can be included in the photo. The problem is that the pic was taken from a position near the tower. So, when resized to the sig's size it will looks very weird and small. Nevertheless, I'll give it a try... Just for you ;)

@Massilia. Thanks. And yeah, the skyline is much better from the Intercontinental (and Alaa's Kingdom :D). But it isn't as clear as the one from the corniche...

Good night! Omar - make sure the skyscrapercity logo fits in the left bottom corner, wihtout damaging your creation too much!! It seems like this logo is always always put there on the banners.

Just tried to put the Sports City Tower. But I found that it's impossible to cut it and put it in the picture. Because there are too much empty spaces (the ones needed to be covered with glass). These spaces all need to be cut. And frankly, this will take waaay too much time and will never turn out to look good.

What do you think of the separator guys? I know it looks a bit strange. But it always does that after resizing the flag. If anyone could find me a flag which doesn't do that when resized I'll put it in immediately.

I think it doesnt look homogeneous enough this way, I think you have 2 options, either put the whole skyline, either a collection of towers with separators, do whichever you can and you find best..: )

Omar i think it looks very nice.. the banner shouldnt always look perfect.. adding stuff and sometimes letting it have lots of pics in one can make it attractive.. in conclusion i think it is a creative picture and i congratulate your work!! good job!! what about the rest? what do u guys think!?

I dont know if my opinion counts at this stage, I mean all the banners look great, and I'm sure a lot of effort was put into them, but I have to agree with omar on this one, I think it looks best on the left.

assuming you guys didnt want another banner with a night pic, I would vote for this one with the flag on the left.

If only Jan would put the site's logo on the right instead! :(

Also, there is no problem with a little bit of text. What omarmakki put on the banner is fine and looks good. Also the flag must be on the right since the ssc logo is on bottom left
