I wonder how it will fare long term in the current financial conditions. It seems they are progressing very well, and the liquidity in the chinese financial industry is unharmed, Shenzhen is expected to sustain a economic growth of about 10% in 2009. This may look high but is down from 15% two years ago amid financial crisis. ina555 April 29th, 2009, 10:21 AM 4.28 by tailwhip http://img2.agenow.com/User/0904/28/527872_22187748.jpg http://img2.agenow.com/User/0904/28/527872_22120404.jpg http://img2.agenow.com/User/0904/28/527872_22120654.jpg ina555 April 29th, 2009, 05:32 PM new render http://bp3.blogger.com/_l5gZIN1kVas/RoDRdng_QbI/AAAAAAAAAWU/Egwbp2HvMjE/s400/%E4%BA%AC%E5%9F%BA.jpg http://www.webcost.net/bbs/attachment/Fid_29/29_3_295a3db800dbeca.jpg http://www.grandtower.com.cn/upload/goods/2009/0122/20090122132914.JPG http://img.club.dayoo.com/club_data/upload_photo/cityonline/2008/10/24/792956/793029.jpg ZZ-II April 29th, 2009, 09:26 PM simply wonderful  helghast April 30th, 2009, 12:19 AM i dont know if its just me, but it looks like they scaled it down. Is there a reason why we continue to countenance the rubbish about Shenzhen's supposed high crime rate. For the record. I have lived and worked in Shenzhen for 23 years and have NEVER felt even remotely threatened. I have never been robbed. Taxi drivers never try to cheat me. Physically it is a VERY safe city. It is also not some wild West factory town. Its official population is fourteen million making it the third most populous city in China. Unlike Shanghai and Beijing which have large rural populations, every one of the fourteen million Shenzheners is classified urban. It is China's richest city with mile after mile of tree-lined middle class suburbs where people live around beautiful tropical gardens. It has a higher proportion of parks and gardens than any Chinese city other than Dongguan. It is a major financial centre. China's largest financial institution, Ping An, is based in Shenzhen. Two of China's six listed banks are based in Shenzhen. Forty per cent of China's mutual funds are managed from Shenzhen. Shenzhen Airlines is China's largest private airline. HQ and R&D of two of the world's top ten electronics companies, Hua Wei and ZTE are based in Shenzhen. One of China's two stock exchanges is in Shenzhen. China's largest real estate developer, Vanke, is based in Shenzhen. All of the above demonstrates why Shenzhen is such a magnet for immigrants and tourists from all over China and why it is one of the world's great skyscraper cities YannSZ September 14th, 2009, 04:43 AM Is there a reason why we continue to countenance the rubbish about Shenzhen's supposed high crime rate. It was the only place I went to in China which 'felt' dangerous but in reality, China is a very safe place to travel. I had no problems at all.
