right! if you remember that first crossing along mango avenue from fuente osmeña that's ramos st. hotels such as holiday plaza, diplomat hotel, cebu midtown, kanirag hotel are at ramos st. if you know where velez college (CIM) is, its at ramos st. ;)

Oh really? I have stayed in Kanirag Hotel that last time i was there in Cebu, Marriotte was getting too expensive so I decided to go cheaper and save up. I'm happy with their service in Kanirag, it's a big stepdown from Marriotte but it's clean enough and very close to areas I can go to when noone is there to drive me around. I even had a massage next door to it and across the street, there is this gym I went to, I had a little bit of a mishap though and it landed me in Cebu Doctors for treatment he he.

I would have guessed it right away that kanirag is in Ramos street. I wish that portion of Crowne Regency or the even in the new building being built is atleast a condotel (or is it?) so next time, I can just stay there or Midtown Plaza hotel on Fuente itself.

My wife expressed her desire to get a condo and she wanted it in her native Cebu, I already thought about possibly retiring in Cebu when the time come so it's probably better to start investing earlier for that, atleast for the time being it can be our vacation home. Any good suggestion? Maybe Ramos tower would be it... I am a bit "tight wad" so is her, so, I want quality for a decent or affordable price.

yes. kanirag is alright IMO. yes there's a gym right across to it but i forgot the name though. what do you mean a portion of CR? actually within the fuente triangle, there are two condominums (ultima residences 3 & 4) that would rise along with the Crown Regency hotel towers and club ultima tower.

i like cebu midtown too. i love their rooms. ramos tower is IMO good, accessibility wise and the way i see it, its great but i suggest you check out on cebu's projects on the rise so that you'd be more informed and up to date. there are really a lot of condos sprouting around MC and i can't say which is better or best. there are really SSC-Cebu pips there that can really help you with it. ;)

Yeah.. there are alot of good residential condo now sprouting in Cebu.. Depending on the place or location you like...

If you like in the uptown, Fuente Osmena.. you can have the Ultima Condominiums...
If you like in the Ayala Area, theres the Grand Cenia and alot of condo's soon to rise there.
If you like the Resort type.. you can take Amisa.
If you like the mountain or horizontal view of the city scape.. go to Citilights.
Near SM and downtown area, there's the Aboitiz Persimmon..

Actually there are alot of new coming projects by next year.. i suggest you wait till next year.. so you will have variety of res condo products to choose from. We are expecting more res condo projects to be launched and pre sold by then.

Cebu definitely changed just in the last 6 years time alone. I would of not recognized it in pics or videos alone had it not from this thread or mentioned here that it is infact Cebu City. Great vid bai. Thanks for sharing!

You ask COA for that matter and they'll justify what i said. So economically lamang kame sa mga Cities na yan.

On terms of Cebu's current skyline, I think it will be a tug of war between CDO and Davao. On the economy then I guess Zamboanga has the advantage over other cities except Cebu and Davao.:)

I dont think so :) remember nga currently there are only 6 high rises in Mindanao and they are all in Davao..but then the tallest, Marco Polo still pales in comparison to Cebu's top 10 tallest.sa CdeO naman wala pang high rise (sa ngayon) and yung mga high rise eh proposals pa lang...Davao naman only has 1 new high rise in the last 10 years

so I highly doubt na aabot sa current level ng cebu skyline ang either city in 10 years time

I don't agree on the tug of war comparison between CDO and Davao. Davao is way ahead if we talk about the skyline, and much more that Davao have sprouting midrise (ranging from 5 to 8/9 storey) about 50+ under construction right now all over the city.... its crazy here actually, not much of the tall but the spaces are filling up in frenzy style. On the other hand, CDO talls are all proposals as of now; Koresco, Mallberry and LKK Gateway are the only midrises that are in actual fruition AFAIK.

Kuntento na po kami dito sa Bacolod sa 8 and 9 storeys muna...PNB in 1969 was our tallest until now pero I'm happy na rin that some 8 and 9 storeys are sprouting since 2005. We believe Bacolod has a long-way to go pa if tall buildings are to be counted but were happy na kasi at least our skyline is not only featuring glass, steel and concrete but lush greenery sprawling far and wide.

You have to understand that the Philippines still lags behind its neighbors (Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia) though..

as for Davao, if you still consider having a u/c Ayala Mall, a 2nd SM mall (plus the existing SM also due for expansion) in the pipeline, 5 condominium complexes u/c a new 12 storey hotel nearing completion as stagnant then we might as well call the entire country (with the exception of Manila and Cebu) stagnant then :)

Skyline wise though I agree that Davao's hasnt improved much since the boom in the late 90's that saw the construction of the city's 5 high rises (since isa lang nadagdag mula noon) :yes:

I think iwould agree with Wadaboy, Davao City is so expansive it's impossible to check almost all new constrcutions & of course stringent pa yan when it comes to environment which in my estimation mga 20 dvelopments still on hold and waiting for deliberation in city council , dito lang nga sa Bo. Obrero @ least 10 to 15 U/C yun nga lang MRB.

Actually eto yun for clearer picture..... example:

One Oasis..... 7 buildings 5 to 6 storey each.... there are 2 buildings almost finish and one U/C.... so, there are 4 more buildings to go but still I counted them as 7 its because its 100% good to go na.

Same with other condo complexes which I believe there are 5 of them U/C right now..... condos palang mga 20+ buildings na.

Plus, every street there are random U/C and many of them fell into 5-9 storey range, add ko na rin yung malalaking U/C like Pinnacle Hotel, Abreeza Mall etc...so 50+.... possible. Davao is actually on the roll, but its ok if many of my Cebu brethrens think the city has a stagnant economy.... I don't mind.... but you'll be surprised if you find out what its capable of.

actually, my take on these? karamihan kasi ng forumers in and around cebu are focused on the u/c w/c are above 12 floors. yung mga 5-9 level u/c hindi na kasi pinapansin dito. it would come to surprise siguro sa mga iba na there is a considerable number of u/c din na midgets around cebu. though i cant give you an exact figure but in giving you a realistic estimate, i'd say its around more or less 25, giving you 50 would be an exag. :cheers:

try getting out of davao city pare, you would see that whats happening to davao is also happening not only in cebu but in other cities as well like bacolod, cdo etc etc. im happy for davao though, its long overdue na for your status as the 3rd capital.

We only enumerate those u/c's that we know do exist and are updated every now and then here in SSC. Naanad na mi nga naa mi makita WHEREAS @Wadaboy cited those 50+ u/c's pero parang hindi namin nakikita or nababasa sa u/c threads nyo. Kaya parang for us, di pa klaro ang sinasabi nya. We SSC Cebu forumers, we make sure na sigurado ang sinasabi namin coz big developers here are already monitoring this forum. yes true for me mahina pa ang davao in terms of u/c's. katong naa ko diha, nisiga ako mata kay daghan diha mga highrise u/c, so ingon ko hina kaayo ang u/c sa davao.

ang gisulti ni wadaboy lowrise ra man tawon to oi. dili exag ang 50 na count. nagsunod ra ba ang davao sa cebu in terms of bldg permits issued. mga lowrise man gud halos dili mapansin, pero kung ihapon, daghan man pud diay.

correct kana akong na observe, sa ako dili na hinambug kay wadaboy, Davao and Cebu are threading different paths, we are happy for the development of Davao as well as what being develop in Cebu bottom line the "economy" should be felt by the multitude and not for the few.

true.... as long as hindi pa visible........ there is no point of comparison... Davao is still way way ahead compared to these cities mentioned.

yes i agree miski alisin mo yung rich factor at sa population na lang mag base, population sa Davao is double to CDO well development will dictate davao is ahead. In fact 60-70% of power plants based in Region X is supplied to Region XI.
