What is happening with it? Have they demolished the motel yet?

as far as i know its demolished and excavations underway.
Heres the WINGS tower that will be built on site.

I drove past about a week and a half ago, and the motel was still standing.

Just heard that demolition has begun, it's being torn down now.

Those bastard developers said they would keep the historic 60's facade, but its no where to be seen.

LOL @ Historic 60s facade - yes only on the Gold Coast would something from the 60s be considered 'historic'.

drove past wings last week they have put up the old pink poodle sign back .
also back are the old tiles around the pool area from the old motel. very close to
finish.

yes this one is finished as well -- people staying there now . still shops to be leased though . not tall but a nice looking building great top ---wings!!!
