Jayme May 15th, 2006, 07:57 AM that must be a really nice street to live in it wood costs Millions to buy one there and i wounder what the vew is like from there
in my house in lebanon i have the best views of the sea i love being up high
LeB-iT May 15th, 2006, 08:43 AM this tower doesn't really show it's 28 million dollars lol...not my taste
Hassoun May 15th, 2006, 04:56 PM From the billboard,i can tell that there's still like 7 or 8 floors to be built.
Beiruti May 15th, 2006, 09:22 PM I dont know, there are only supposed to be 20 floors, and in this pic it seems they are approaching 20:
http://img54.imageshack.us/img54/5987/dscn07973pi5ak.jpg
Could they have increased the number of floors?
nareg May 15th, 2006, 09:59 PM Could they have increased the number of floors?
It seems they have, coz looking at the rendering, the upper floors seem to have one attached balcony unlike the others which there exists a space.
But if they have changed the plan, I guess it wouldn't have the same height as the other two towers nearby.
Beiruti May 25th, 2006, 07:10 PM Any updates on this tower? Pics, articles, info? I am still wondering what the final number of floors will be...
Beiruti June 14th, 2006, 07:51 AM Okay guys, its been over a month since the last pics of this tower (taken by Naregkar)... so have there been any noticeable changes? Has this tower topped out yet?
Lebanese Cedar June 14th, 2006, 09:05 AM No, they haven't been working on it for over a month now, I don't know why. Probably legal problems.
Beiruti June 14th, 2006, 09:58 AM Copied from another thread:
tnxs Beirut! :), so the Horizon Tower is 2 towers if im not mistaken?
^^ That's what it seems... which doesn't make sense since we only see one being built now, but maybe it will be behind it facing the rear street?
I guess so, but a rendering I saw not to long ago showed one building. Hmm how puzzling lol hehe
Well maybe this aerial view will help us sort this out:
http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d184/rhmud/Horizonplot.jpg
In this pic (taken before construction) you can see how large the plot of land actually is and it is possible the second tower could be in the rear...
Lebanese Cedar June 14th, 2006, 11:14 AM In this pic (taken before construction) you can see how large the plot of land actually is and it is possible the second tower could be in the rear...
A swimming pool and other facilities will be located in the back. It will be one building that is split in half. Give me a week and I will post the rendering of what the building is supposed to look like and you'll see what I mean.
Beiruti June 14th, 2006, 07:00 PM ^^ Okay thanks, so the article is wrong in implying there are two buildings?
Horizon Tower is a two-block development on Avenue de Paris in Ain Mreisseh. ...
The of $28 million project is owned by two companies, Horizon East and Horizon West, part of Horizon investment holding ... Each building consists of 20 floors.
Lebanese Cedar June 14th, 2006, 09:11 PM It's one building that is split in half, that's what they mean by the Horizon East and Horizon West. It's not really two separate buildings because it is one structure.
Beiruti June 23rd, 2006, 07:05 PM UPDATE: A new, clearer rendering has been added to the first post.
Beiruti June 24th, 2006, 12:21 AM I hope the ugly chicken restaurant (on the left of the tower) doesnt stay in that prime location... or at least they could paint it a different color?

Beiruti June 28th, 2006, 09:32 PM Thanks for this pic Nadini!

Jayme August 1st, 2006, 12:09 AM omg thats so lik... diffrent to to the other rending .. well looks diffrent
i like this building now i thought it was just a plan building
Beiruti August 1st, 2006, 12:21 AM ^^ I know I really like it, but for some reason contruction was temporarily halted for a few weeks prior to the war... and now after the war, who knows...
Anyway, I still took some pics even though not much has changed since Nareg's pics...

Hassoun September 25th, 2006, 06:38 AM How many floors this building is really about?:D they didn't reach joining point yet,and they built about 18 floors.
Beiruti September 25th, 2006, 08:16 AM ^^ They are on the 20th and final floor. The two sides of the building will be joined at floor 15 though they just havent connected the balconies yet.

Nadini October 22nd, 2006, 06:41 AM ^^ this is an older picture of the Horizon tower under construction, if u notice the top part of some other picture is more complete. I just added it cuz i felt it belonged to this section
Beiruti October 22nd, 2006, 06:51 AM ^^ You are right I wasnt thinking... this is a much older pic actually...so I guess things arent as bad as I thought. Im just so upset that construction has halted and we no nothing about the situation!
nareg October 22nd, 2006, 04:50 PM Horizon Tower is still in its old status. I wonder why they are not working on it.
nareg November 3rd, 2006, 05:28 PM I took these pics from AUB before my lecture...
Horizon Tower from back as of 03/11/2006. As you may notice, works are still halted.

Hassoun November 3rd, 2006, 10:30 PM OHHHH,thanx nareg.Gr8 needed update :)
I wonder though,why construction is halted,i mean,it's almost complete :S
Beiruti November 4th, 2006, 02:46 AM Not good news, but great pics nonetheless... I like this angle!
nareg December 1st, 2006, 05:31 PM Today I realised that the cranes have changed their angle (I mean rotated) and saw a person (didn't identify him to be a worker or not) on the roof. (Maybe secret agent?) Moreover, during a night as I passed the corniche I saw that they have turned the lights on [of the balconies].
Beiruti December 1st, 2006, 05:37 PM ^^ hmm... this may be good news but you never know the wind could have moved the cranes? Also, even when I was there during and before the war (construction had been stopped since June) they had the balcony lights on...
diego chivo December 2nd, 2006, 01:24 AM Wuauw, another great building from Beruit, the render its nice, and it should be great living there in front of that ocean, THANKS a lot for the pi:cheers: cs!!!!
nareg December 4th, 2006, 01:24 PM Good news... I can confirm that some works are going. I saw the crane rotating with a load and workers on the roof.
Beiruti December 4th, 2006, 06:45 PM Hopefully the work is construction! thanks again Nareg... keep us updated...
Nadini December 6th, 2006, 02:14 AM http://img133.imageshack.us/img133/6539/cimg2473qe6.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
nareg December 6th, 2006, 08:58 PM Hmm, who took that pic Nadini? It's again from AUB, few metres away from the place I had taken my recent pics.
nareg December 15th, 2006, 04:00 PM New pics taken today from my class at AUB. (Sorry for the bad quality, I took them with my cell-phone cam)
As you can see, works have finally resumed and it seems a new floor will be soon added.

Jayme March 23rd, 2007, 10:43 PM i was woundering about this building , its getting along great
Hassoun March 24th, 2007, 03:43 AM ^^ Thanx nareg. :)

Hassoun March 24th, 2007, 05:03 PM ^^ Don't worry, lol:D it's not that bad ;) I mean we've been through waaaaaaaay more bad times, and if lebanese pple can't come over this little crisis,no power on earth can ;) :) WE R THE PHOENIX :)
Hassoun March 24th, 2007, 06:15 PM What's the Elevated part in the back???i don't see it in the Renders of the Building:S
Also,,,are they going to add the Spires on Top of the building??HOPE SO,they look so NICE in the renders.
Beiruti March 24th, 2007, 07:28 PM ^^ Look closely in the renders, the back isnt visable so it could be as planned.

Hassoun April 12th, 2007, 12:45 AM ^^Oh it looks very gr8 from the back,i wish we could see a rendering for the back side.
Lirtain April 12th, 2007, 04:05 AM It looks like the last floor is a duplex or something
Beiruti April 12th, 2007, 06:29 AM Yes, a rendering of the rear would be helpful, however just seeing any progress with this tower is great news, considering construction was halted for a long time (even prior to last summer's war).

kheireddine September 27th, 2007, 07:21 PM The sea front is becoming a wall :ohno:
LeB.Fr September 27th, 2007, 07:26 PM ^^Why are you saying that??
kheireddine September 27th, 2007, 07:34 PM The new buildings are too high, they are blocking the view on the sea and Sannine from AUB & the buildings on Bliss st...Furthermore, those buildings are from built the rich Arabs from the Gulf & some wealthy Lebanese folks, and not for us, ordinary Lebanese citizens.
kheireddine September 27th, 2007, 07:36 PM The contrast between rich and poor is becoming more and more striking, the middle class is being eliminated :ohno:
Beiruti September 27th, 2007, 11:52 PM Please let's not get off topic and let's avoid discussing social issues in project threads.
Having said that, notice the new street lamps along the corniche! The high-rises along the coast look really nice with the palm trees, etc - it gives the city its "Miami-look".
Hassoun September 28th, 2007, 02:09 PM ^^the street lamps in the pic i posted above were always there, they r not new
Beiruti September 28th, 2007, 02:12 PM ^^ Are you sure?? I walked there all the time and never saw them before...plus they look new, but maybe Im wrong...
Hassoun September 28th, 2007, 02:31 PM ^^there's just one or two of them, located only in that part,i am not sure as well,i might be wrong, but i have seen them b4.

houssam March 24th, 2008, 08:31 PM both sides are almost completely "cladded" and they started cladding the front ....
u cant see it cause of the sun but the curved parts r cladded ....... and on the left they reached the 4th floor

Beiruti September 11th, 2008, 03:31 PM ^^ Yes it's new but not very big. By the way, this is Ain el Mreisseh/Manara area not Raouche. There was a Starbucks in Raouche but it was recently demolished to make way for Bahri Gardens II.

^^
Sorry to ask this question on this thread:
They forgot to replace these old balustrades, why is that?:ohno:
and what's the deal with this like "small trashy balcony", i don't see why they left it like that, so ugly!!!
Rabih December 14th, 2008, 05:39 PM ^^I've never seen this before, it looks like it's toward the far end of the courniche..
Maybe it belongs to the restaurant there (El-Afandi is it?)
still i agree its ugly and out of place
AmeriLEB December 14th, 2008, 06:48 PM yea why didnt they just extend it? maybe it was illegal coastal construction

Bash_Mohandis November 12th, 2009, 09:51 AM honestly the design is simple. we need more sofisticated designs in Lebanon. This is typical .. almost. dont u think so?
Beiruti November 12th, 2009, 05:24 PM ^^ Yes, most people here have expressed those views, but what is most concerning is that the project has taken four years and the construction is still not complete yet!

nareg April 22nd, 2010, 04:51 PM Today they dismantled the front crane after nearly two years when the rear crane was dismantled. Just as a side note, Burj Khalifa's construction duration took less time than this!
Hanz April 27th, 2010, 09:05 PM Project duration:
The core & shell of the project including all basements and electromechanical installations have been complete for some time now.
The reason its taken some time to complete the front facade is basically because all apartments were sold as core & shell. A large part of these apartments are owned by the actual arab investors in the project. The contractor was not allowed to remove the tower crane until all residents completed their interior decorations which took a long time due to the fact that a lot of the owners/investors were not too excited about putting money into their apartments because of the political instability before the elections and therefore kept postponing working on the interiors. Residents only started working on their interiors after elections.
Therefore with people still hauling all kinds of construction materials into their apartments through the front balconies , the front facade had to be halted until everyone completed their interior decoration. Most apartments are now finished but not all however the decision has finally been made to remove the tower crane and complete the front facade and the few apartments left that haven't finished will just have to make do with the building service elevator :)
