I graduated from AUB just under two years ago, and I still haven't been to lebanon since then, and I miss it soo much, I was wondering if anyone can post any photos of the campus please...the old buildings and the new ones as well...

lebaneseangel May 19th, 2006, 09:14 AM nareg..have you ever thought about being a tour guide to leb? you look at a photo and know the angle it came from whats next to it...its awesome! i know you lived here forever so it doesnt seem special to you. but let me tell you. when i moved here last year. i was so lost!
you could have your buisness. have advertisments on sites for lebanon tourism. you could make good money. especially while your doing your studies... a nice side job
nareg May 19th, 2006, 09:27 AM Well, I don't know what to say lebaneseangel, no comment.
After you suggested that, I must start thinking of being a tour guide or the adverstising thing...

Very Controversial May 20th, 2006, 03:20 PM is getting AUB really hard
"Is getting into AUB really hard?" To tell you the truth, I don't know. People around the country tell me that AUB is about the money. I don't know if that is true. But I do know a bunch of lazy people who got into AUB with a 0.7 GPA. Yet again, GPA does not determine how smart you are.
These are just rumours. So I Don't Know how hard is it to get into AUB.
Feel Free To Correct Me.
Jayme May 21st, 2006, 12:38 AM whats GPA is that like ur total score in the exam ???
here we get ENTER SCORES out of a 100 and come course need a certain score to get into eg Tourism Managment at Victoria Uni needs 60 but in another UNi like Melbroune u might need like 75 it dpends on the Uni and the score i assume medicene u need like 90 plus ! and law also there is some really hard couses and some easy ones
Phoenician Empire May 21st, 2006, 11:21 PM Hi friends. Does someone of you have some renderings of the aub .

GPA is out of 4 total points! 4 is A, 3 is B, 2 is C, 1 is D, and obviously 0 is F! but thats only unweighted GPA! like for example, when I graduated from HS i had a 3.8 unweighted GPA, and a 4.7 weighted GPA (because I was in IB) ... confusing I know!
and from wat I heard, LAU is the one where money governs! AUB is still a bit more academic than the others!
Jayme May 22nd, 2006, 05:43 AM oh ok really diffrent system then ours
Lebanese Prince June 6th, 2006, 10:10 PM I saw AUB this past summer, but I didn't take a tour of it, but I am next summer. I was thinking of going there, but it's better to go to college here in America then in Lebanon
lebgurl June 6th, 2006, 10:16 PM ^^ the actual level of education is the same (altho different) but its a stigma that ur better off going to school in the states ... i remember when i told my dad i wanted to do a summer in LAU or AUB and he laughed at me for my ridiculous proposal!
but i find that students who went to undergrad there and come to the states for grad school have a much easier time with the material.

Hassoun February 18th, 2007, 04:03 PM Good old days,Without any foreign interventions "Sigh"
Lirtain February 19th, 2007, 02:39 AM Yeah it's a very beautiful area and the above setup still exists till today. I guess they wanted to build a stadium instead of the green field but i'm not sure what's the current status.
nareg February 19th, 2007, 05:19 PM Those gardens still exist the same way as you see 50 years ago in the posted picture.
As for the Green Field, currently there is no field. It is all under construction. They are building student centre which includes basketball courts, swimming pool, etc... But after works have finished near the field, again there will be a stadium.
nareg February 19th, 2007, 10:15 PM Here is a new campus map.
