If so, you are quite good at long exposure shots. :) Did you use a tripod or did you set it on some object? Nadini June 25th, 2006, 10:39 PM ^^ no no the mount sannine shot I found it in one of my folders, I had it for quite a while Lebanese Cedar June 25th, 2006, 11:30 PM It's a nice shot. :) Nadini June 25th, 2006, 11:32 PM ^^ tnxs hehe, don't you live in Lebanon, you should show us your beautiful pictures Lebanese Cedar June 25th, 2006, 11:42 PM I was in Lebanon for 5 weeks. I got back a week ago. I live in the USA, however I always take a lot of pictures when I am in Lebanon. Here is a shot I took 3 years ago on Kodachrome 64 slide film (not digital) on a Pentax ZX-7 film SLR camera: http://users.adelphia.net/~nabilb727/images/sunset.jpg And here is the same spot taken a few weeks ago with a Canon Digital Rebel XT (350D) digital camera: http://img121.imageshack.us/img121/7922/ainelmreisseh16ht.jpg http://img56.imageshack.us/img56/7008/ainelmreisseh25ro.jpg The most noticable difference is that the Horizon Tower does not exist in the first shot, it was still a parking lot back then. :) Nadini June 25th, 2006, 11:48 PM hehe u see, these are amazing shots ur camera is a A+++ lebgurl June 26th, 2006, 12:00 AM NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE!!! did u take these from a hot-air balloon? Lebanese Cedar June 26th, 2006, 12:31 AM NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE!!! did u take these from a hot-air balloon? Nope, C Lounge of the Bayview Hotel. :) I did take several shots from the hot-air balloon. I'll post them later. khayam June 26th, 2006, 07:56 AM http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/2559/2059587280041740861ontcroph4is.jpg (http://imageshack.us) Is that the Samir Kassir statue? The man was my professor, he was one of my recommenders when I came to the U.S. I can't believe that when I come to lebanon this summer, instead of visiting him in his office, I will be visiting his statue.... Beiruti June 26th, 2006, 07:58 AM ^^ That is truly sad Khayam, but you are very lucky to have known him... lebgurl June 26th, 2006, 08:02 AM ^^ :( wow khayam ... u were so lucky so have known someone like him in person!!! im so sorry u wont b able to c him again. khayam June 26th, 2006, 08:08 AM Yes I am lucky indeed, he was a phenomenal person and professor, he practically built my historical consciousness and introduced me to many themes that I still think within. His class was the only "fun" class we had in our first year, I avoided attending most lectures throughout my college days except for his. his style was impeccable, a memorable story happened between us on my very first day of classes in college (I cannot recount it, people in my cohort could recognize me by it :)). and he really had a distinct personnality, so confident and mesmerizing. Not to say that I agreed with his politics, he used to be a PLO supporter, and I never liked `arafatis, and in his last days I thought he pandered too much to right wingers in Lebanon. But he was one of those people that you meet and never forget, and he really liked his students. I can't bear the thought that he was chosen to be assassinated, if anyone in Lebanon deserves to live, it is people like him.
