smiley May 19th, 2006, 06:28 PM From this perspective, looks a bit better than most pictures from the ground
Quegiebo May 19th, 2006, 06:35 PM I really like the last shot, Smiley. Nice work! :)
multifamilyinvestor May 19th, 2006, 08:55 PM ALL of them are great... Check out Meridian in the first pic. Downtown Tampa has so much figgin potential. It really is a clean slate.
Thanks Smiley - these give me great ammunition if I have to defend tampa's waterfront setting yet another time.
TallTampa May 19th, 2006, 09:02 PM Great pictures!
jzquince69 May 19th, 2006, 09:05 PM great picts.
smiley May 19th, 2006, 10:41 PM Thanks, but don't thank me. Thank God for the weather and the FAA for the flightpath - never flown that path before.
smiley May 19th, 2006, 10:43 PM The other thing I have to say is that the apartments in the northeast corner of Harbour Island are a total waste of land. I hope the owner of those has long term plans to rip them down and put up some density (I doubt it will come soon, but it is logical to come later)
FloridaFuture May 20th, 2006, 12:48 AM Nice pics. Thanks for sharing. First pic really shows that Tampa Tower will be dominat. Two blocks to the left (south) of the pink County Center. I think.

Those apartments (Harbour Walk and Harbour Place) went condo some years ago. They are there for good.
Personally I wish Davis Island could go more dense too.
smiley May 20th, 2006, 04:05 AM I meant Island Place, but it looks like those went condo too. horrible site plan. Total waste of good land.
Lakelander May 20th, 2006, 05:49 AM Great pics.
tampamobster21 May 20th, 2006, 08:28 AM Fantastic pictures though. I love the views of flight and the pictures that were taken.

Thats the name - Island Walk and Island Place. We are talking about the same ones.
tonyff67 May 20th, 2006, 03:18 PM Great Pics! It really makes downtown look baron though, other than the far west side. I guess that could be a good thing. It leaves pleanty of open land for new development. Hopefully the past has taught us well enough, that Tampa will do it right.
tampamobster21 May 20th, 2006, 07:34 PM Whos past?
Tampa on the move. May 21st, 2006, 04:48 AM : The land around Jefferson High School looks like it is all sand. Is there something going up over there???
Great pics Smiley..
The view from Westshore looking towards DT then you pencil whats going to be there in 2 years and we are going to have a pretty nice skyline..
Yeah baby>:eek2:
TampaMike May 21st, 2006, 05:06 AM I wish some of those buildings in the last pick could be domilished and some nice towers, mostly offices be built on them. Like that orange building on the right, know hat the hotel is, but forgot the name, should be domolished as well as others
Thanks for the pix smiley, makes me want to go skydiving. DT Tampa and Channelside is going to look sweet when everything is done.

That orange building is a nice hotel i had a graduation there i think that brown building at the bottom right should go that thing is ugly.
Tiger Beer May 21st, 2006, 03:09 PM those pictures have given me a more accurate picture of Tampa than anything else I've seen to date.
Now more of people's comments make sense about it. Some really obvious things..
Trees.. quite a few of the more leafy big variety than I expected.. for some reason I excpected more palm trees everywhere.
Highways and Space.. definetely big highways coming in.. the dense part isn't really that dense.. lots of industrial space it appears all over the place. I can now see this downtown thats more work-oriented, and not very 'liveable'.. and with all the trees and outskirts.. I can see people probably live out there and commute all the time.
Cars.. yeah, looks car-oriented.

Sorry, don't know Tampa that good, where is Jefferson High in the pics?

Its the lot just beyond the Marriot. The reason it looks sandy is the drought - it is sand, heh. Most high schools (sans Plant) don't have the resources to maintain a green lawn in such conditions.
tampamobster21 May 28th, 2006, 11:17 AM I think the forth picture shows Tampa the best.
